I would respectfully suggest that you and some others on OVF sometimes run on auto-criticise.

Let's dismiss the impact of the new Chief Scout before we even have the faintest idea who that new Chief Scout might be.

In fact let's pretend that this change is not even happening, and the club is just going to continue with the same recruitment team.

The club has been running without a chief scout, I’m not sure why every mortal thing is beyond critism with you. It’s a complete embarrassment from Hancock. How have we been signing players previously

I would have had him a couple of years ago but not now that being said if he does sign for us he will have my full support and backing. It does seem like there might be some truth in it though as a Crewe fan has heard the same rumour.

I fully agree with this. He should be accountable to the people who pay to watch the team he has recruited just as much as he is to the people who fund that recruitment.

I wouldn't put too much credence in that Crewe fan. He's one of those who loves to troll Vale fans and is part of the odious Railwaymen Podcast.

I think its quite clear that Moore was bringing in said players and there was no accountability for him to anyone - Darnbrough has just been an extension of that.

While I don't think there's much in this, it would follow our usual recruitment pattern - coming off the back of a near career ending injury, barely kicked a ball for a year, one half decent season in since turning pro, 28 so no real resale value.

It's the classic Vale fan approach to football chat.

Transfer suggestions always answer one of these questions:

• Did they used to play for us?
• Are they a 'name'?
• Did they play well against us?

Aside from that, most don't watch other football so don't know anyone else.

Same for the DoF suggestions.

• "Foyle used to play for us so I know who he is"
• "He's a DoF/HoR"
• "I don't know anyone else to suggest"

Personally, I don't know any names, but for me, we NEED a DoF, and it should be either:

• Someone that's overseen a good job at a smaller club and got them punching above their weight
• Or someone that's been part of a successful team above us (Brighton/Brentford/Bournemouth) and wants to become the number one

Yeah I really don't understand the Clamour for Foyle... He didn't pull up trees with his signings as manager for us and he's currently with Carlisle who failed to get back up from non league with one of the biggest budgets.
