You see fans on here and you hear fans in the ground saying we should be going for it and attacking. But let’s face it, we’re crap, so I have no problem with the manager being a bit more pragmatic and setting us up as hard to beat and scrapping for every point. That’s what it looked like Brady wanted to do tonight.  It seemed obvious to me that they’d been working on that defensive shape and discipline that we saw in the first half. Second half we pushed more but didn’t really create a chance, even when we started to gain some momentum in the game we couldn’t create a chance. But in the end we couldn’t hold on for a point, it was almost the perfect away performance….. but at home. 

You have to agree it is easier to set up away from home to defend and score an odd goal and hold on for a point or three.

At home you have to have more quality and more attacking style.

Also you describe exactly the Darren Moore school of football and it has failed completely for most of the last two years since he was our manager.

 

You also describe how to lose hundreds of fans / season ticket sales due to the rubbish on view each home game/ Look at our record !!!

I said on here after the Mansfield defeat that what’s already becoming obvious is Brady’s in game management is basically non existent. He’s not changed anything in game once yet

I do think looking ahead to next season the Shanahans and the club in general have got a problem when it comes to season ticket time. It’s not so much the losing games that’s the issue we’ve done that since the club was formed but the lack of goals scored / entertainment on offer is just shocking and it looks even worse if you take out the aberration of Blackpool at home. There’s going to be a lot of people who will start questioning if it’s worth it. Some of whom such as myself who travel pretty fair distances to watch home games (I’ll still get one to note) it does leave you wondering a bit what’s the point.

Tonight as I say no lack of effort but too many are L2 players. I’m not angry about it like I was Exeter where that was just an abject surrender this was just a lack of football ability from too many tonight.

Moore got critised and rightly so, when given his reputation, was unable to get a response out of the players that he'd inherited. Brady seems to be having the same problem. I wonder if he still believes that we are a talented squad, as he stated previously?

If thats the case I half expect he will go of his own choosing. I meant that I can't see us sacking him before the end of the deal, doesn't seem like anything Carol would do. 

I bet Brady feels very let down by the club's recruitment department at the moment.

I can't remember a season where I have come away from games feeling such a lack of a bond between fans and the club. Folks have gone past caring, we just get up and shuffle out when we concede the late goal time after time

There is nothing to get excited about in games, nothing to get you out of your seat, no passion on the pitch and none in the stands

Maybe it's a symptom of modern football, the excitement is just not there anymore 

 Never mind training. Take all the squad to a farmyard and those who can't hit a barn door with a shovel should not make match day squad. 

Not sure if I have thought the above through.  Applying the above technique would mean a team could not fielded for the game.

What I’ve seen from Moore was send you to sleep football. Players over coached. 
Let’s be honest, did anyone get excited during last season over a whole game apart from once or twice? It was grim. 
Now Brady walks in and the performances are arguably worse.

I don’t get why we appointed him. Brackley and Northampton. And his league record is pretty poor. 
The players are dreadful. Some of them. I’m not having Gordon especially. 
A conversation needs to be asked about Brown ever playing as a main striker again.

Here is where I stand on Saturday….. If Brady approaches the game in the same manner, then he is on Jim Gannon esque borrowed time.

Fans want fight. Two strikers on the pitch. But this manager and the one previous and Crosby before him, they send the fanbase to apathetic sleep. 
That’s so worrying.

When Northampton fans say his football is negative and boring, and they watched 200 games of him, then it’s probably time to admit that this isn’t going to get better anytime soon.

I have to say, and this isn’t said lightly, this season, on the eye, has probably been the worst football I’ve ever seen at Vale. Even worse than under Bruno, Glover, Sinnott, Aspin, Askey and ok, on par with Gannon and his laptop.

Maybe football is dead and just not exciting anymore. That’s what it seems like. The kids that are coming through are over coached. 
And I think us Vale fans just want a side and a manager to be very proud of. 
We haven’t had that as a collective since Clarke in the playoffs.

Its just dreadful to watch right now, whether we win lose or draw.
