2026 Winter Transfer Window

Yep, I would suggest he has a minimum fee in his deal at Plymouth as well, and would assume it was insisted upon by his agents as much as us. His career trajectory seems to suggest that he has taken a drop down the leagues with a focus on transfer moves as opposed to loans while at a PL academy.

It would certainly turn out to be a poor move for him if he hasn't negotiated one and is stuck at Plymouth against his wishes next season.

Well in 2 seasons of loans to League clubs he only scored 1 goal, whereas at Aldershot he scored 25 in one season.

10 days to go, still not even a rumour.....

Dont worry pal matt tells us they plan for all eventualities. When we go down without signing anyone in jan they can roll out the in hindsight quotes again

What year is it? 😄 Was on loan to us years back.

You would think we be doing something .

But will we or have they given up

If no one comes in they have given up for me ,its only a lost cause if poor  mentality ,weak characters folk think it is ...

Fair enough supoorters may feel that way ,but players should be ramming negativity down throats of negative naysayers ...

A new signing daft as it seems boosts  everyone ,might even put a few extra on gate for sat

Doing nothing well whats that tell you, as surely it tells you summat it tells me as a individual s/club that they have checked out .

Must be loads of hungry players out there like thst Ballard who scores regularly for LO ...

Go and take a punt on someone, and send players back who have shown too game 24 ,that more often than not they cannot deliver, and put all on transfer list whos poor performance levels ,have left us bottom of the league .

Well who thats for them decide with self analysis of there efforts or lack of them

I was looking at the squad with my old man and his name was on there. When you search him it says current team is vale. I’m calling error as he’s listed at some non league side in Nottingham.

Won't be just that in this case either though, the agent will have insisted as well. Another sale is another payday for them.

Doubt it very much. The agent works on behalf of the player, it is not in the interest of the player to have a sell on clause with his previous club and we were not in a position to negotiate a deal with Plymouth with them offering his release fee.

Don’t think you understood the question…..I was asking if we had a sell on clause for Tolaj so if Plymouth sell him we get a percentage of the sell on figure. I’d be surprised if we have.

For me Tolaj reflects the unpredictability of strikers in football, no doubt a very good player for Vale scoring 14 goals in 37 Lge 2 games (15 goals in a total of 42 games) in the promo season, 1 goal in 4 Lge games in the 2025/26 season in Lge 1.

Whereas for a mostly struggling Plymouth team it's 11 goals in 18 Lge 1 games and a total of 14 goals in 23 games overall.

When he went to Plymouth, I didn't anticipate his return on goals scored vs games played would be improved from at Vale (In Lge 2) and so good (In Lge 1), the only time he came close to his Plymouth return was in the National League for Aldershot but that's 2 levels lower than Lge 1.  When out on loan he didn't score at all although he didn't play many games.

There's a myriad of reasons why he's come good at Plymouth but who would have predicted it?  I'm ambivalent about Tolaj maintaining his goal scoring form, on one hand a % of any big fee would be nice but if his goals dried up, Plymouth would likely get sucked down Lge 1 but Tolaj's value may fall.

I guess the bottom line is for the last 2 1/2 seasons he's done what the 3 clubs bought him for and that's score goals at a good rate of games played.

He was a good player for us…..probably past it now but would have liked him to stay.

I’d have predicted it, he was head and shoulders our best player when played in the correct position, I’m not surprised he’s done well. In fact, he was the only thing at Vale who was Championship ready.
