I agree if it is the £100,000 that has been reported on here then that is a very poor deal from us.

Mentioned on X and the chap above mentions a “minimum fee”

If it’s that low not that we will know then for a player who could be key with 18 months to go especially when we will struggle to attract a replacement in our position is poor.

Was he ever appreciated by Moore?

His goalscoring record of 45 goals in 206 matches shows what his capabilities are. 

Look at just the 45 minutes against Blackpool. 2 assists and a goal. Probably a performance to get a move to Plymouth.

If he has gone for £100K thats robbery and a disaster for any attempt to get us out of the mire Moore has left us in.

Should Curtis go we do have a ready made replacement. Shorrock. Under Moore he was never allowed to develop his natural talent as a winger. Moore insisted on playing him as a wingback. Shorrock is never a defender, he was wasted. Bring him back, give him a role where he can develop his natural talent and wastc him blossom

Stand by this.

A lot of our fans have never taken to him because he's not a speedy winger in the mould of Guppy, Mccarthy, Ainsworth or Jeffers.

He's not that type of player. Not blessed with great pace. Also didn't he have an ACL ?

What Curtis is, is a football player with a brain, an eye for a pass, an eye for a goal. His Vale career ruined by never selected consistently or played out of position.

Nope I don't think he was ever appreciated by Moore and you only need to see his goalscoring record at Portsmouth to see just how good of a player he was. Sadly I think the ACL injury which he sustained in his last season at Portsmouth really hampered him as he has lost some of the burning pace that he had before and whilst he is still a good player he hasn't reached the same heights since.

Yeah, I don't think he has been the same player since his ACL injury.

Let’s not get carried away here… think he may have got 4 or 5 goals for us in league 2 which isn’t great for a forward in a top 3 league 2 team… maybe he’s score 3 or 4 for us this season? I do like him but he’s not the Curtis of old since his cruciate injury he’s lost a yard of pace and can’t get past people in the same way as when he was at Pompey.

i agree he could have been better utilised this year but he’s only played a couple of games as wing back due to injuries, he’s suffered from not playing wide left as our manager favoured a wing back system but when he has played further forward as a starter or a sub he’s been kind of no better than ok for us.

We need to be realistic… the manager will want a to  bring in his own players and to do that he needs to generate a bit of cash and create some room in the squad… I suspect Curtis will be the first of a few… I d guess at Crosdale, Plant, Shipley, Jessie, Ojo,  will be going to league 2 clubs… possibly cash in on Walter’s? He’ll send back Brown and Gaucci maybe but I think he ll keep Mo as a back up to Stockly. All guesswork of course…
 
Let’s see what happens but a team bottom of the league can’t have too many arguments when the new manager wants to change personnel around a bit

I like Shorrock but he isn’t ready yet… he can’t get in Chester’s team… he won’t be anywhere near up to speed.
