2026 Winter Transfer Window

Featured Replies

Everyone should have a clean slate. But if Brady already has transfer targets in mind, maybe even players he knows and trusts then some existing players here will have to be moved on or pushed aside to make room. We don’t have time to see how someone might develop under him. He got to make some quick judgements if he thinks the squad will benefit from other players.

See on X that Walsall have signed Pattison from Bradford. Seems a decent signing.

They've let him go because he's getting no games at Bradford and he's injury prone...we already have enough of them at the vale 🤔😬

We have a bloated squad which is imo unbalanced. We will know if there are incomings once we see some outgoings. JB going to have to make some very quick assessments of players. I wish him luck, hopefully the existing back room staff will be able to provide insight but this may be tarnished by the DM view of players. Not an envious position to be in but that’s why he’s the manager!

We don't really have a bloated squad, the transfer window system means that a lot of clubs stockpile players.

I agree we have I think 7 out with injuries or it could be more and in Gordon Shipley Ojo and Ben G first choices

I’d say 34 first team players is too many. Even with 7 out it’s still enough for a game of 11 a side with some subs.

Is that including the 3 out on loan?

34 is far too many, particularly if you're a club that might look to afford opportunities to youth players now and again. Moore wanted nothing to do with our youth players once he was able to bring in 'experience' instead (who are mostly injured, fwiw)

Think we have James Plant returning from his loan shortly. He can play as a winger so that might now get him something of an opportunity however he's now 21 and I don't think we are any closer to knowing if he can make it at L1 or L2 level even. He's probably one that I'd allow to leave on a permanent deal at this point I'm erring towards.

I keep seeing people mentioning plant and shorrock about getting them back to vale and giving them a chance

Neither of them are good enough for league 1 , if they were they wouldn’t be out on loan to non league and in shorrocks case he’s hardly played

Now they might come good down the line , plant is 21 and he should be further along than Jack but he’s not pulling up any trees at Yeovil either

Just sick of people saying get them back like they are the answer if they were then they wouldn’t be playing non league football

First you could try to learn to spell it correctly.

Then perhaps one day you will improve your contributions enough to aspire to talking it.

Baby steps, Nippy ...

According to Alan Nixon Orient set to sign Will Forrester from Bolton. I normally hate the go back in for old players thing but he is someone I might have had interest in as he's still young and has an upside.
