UV reporting there is an awkward twist in the Cole saga…

It’s just confirmed he’d gone.

any truth

He was the first Cuban to score in the Premier league, against Man U. Seems he sustained a hamstring injury over Christmas, and hasn't played since. Left wing/left midfielder.  Would be a risk, I guess, due to his lack of game time this season.

Well said

Was looking at where Shrewsbury are in the league

That could be us next season if we aren't careful

I had already done that.  However, we had seemed to have moved on. It seems we can’t handle league one at all as a club these days.

We spent all summer chasing him, he came late in the window, then didn’t score and left. Probably only came due to DM being here.

Undisclosed fee

Cole to Luton confirmed.

Yeah twist and turn quickly there!

First line from Devante I'm here for the fight, for the badge.

Assuming Paton will stay now?

If I’m honest I think we will struggle not because of finance but because the environment is toxic beyond belief at Vale from top to bottom. That will be well known in footballing circles. I have no evidence of that it’s just a gut feeling based on experience.

You can’t build the kind of “perfect” environment that the club strives for and certainly not in football. Those environments start out wonderful then become overly toxic very quickly. The good you have done gets forgotten and is replaced with resentment, frustration and anger. We saw it with  Flitcroft and Clarke et el. They went from “God” like status to demons in the blink of an eye. At a guess Carol is great when things are going well and very supportive but any show of subordination and I bet it’s not a good place to be. You see it in workplaces all the time, people come in and everyone loves everyone blah, blah blah and then the wheels come off. Then it can become very difficult to change and you have to move people round and get rid of people.

I honestly don’t think we are seeing a lack of willing to invest I think we are seeing the fall out from what is a horrible place to be at the present moment.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Create a wonderful environment and the toxicity will be waiting there to take hold at the first opportunity.

Buts thats people isnt it - we could argue that OVF can be a really toxic environment at times - and thats when "we are all vale"

The problem is, and we have all been subjected to it at work, it only takes one or two "challenging" personalities in the wrong position in order to totally upend the proverbial applecart and destroy whole teams.

Personally I worked in education for a good few years, and saw really well performing teams devastated by the introduction of said "bad apples" - funnily enough, not long after I joined em 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

Its a conundrum that will never be solved unless we all work in a closed microcosm where there are barriers to entry - which for vale would have meant the team from about 1996 still playing now😂😂😂😂

Fine. Don’t care. High wage off the books and got a fee from nothing.

Stat the rebuild early and look ahead to next year.

At least this stop the questions when the team comes out in ten minutes of “where’s Cole?”

As Santa recently pointed out, our top scorer in the squad is now Croasdale in the absence of Cole and Curtis.

Our top scorer in the league has two goals.

It's February tomorrow.

We're 10 points adrift of 23rd place Rotherham, who themselves have only won 1 in their last 12 and went on a 7 game losing streak.

Perhaps the absent owner letting her son and the community guy from Burton run the club was a bit of an error. Never mind.

That's very very funny. 😄 He'll be gone from there again in 12 months

Anyway thanks for very little Devante. Gets a big wage off the books and a profit in terms of fee at least.

Don’t think he’s ever been anywhere “for the fight”.
