Thats not me saying that all these should have been kept on but I would rather have watched Smith die for the cause and give his all than some of these shrinking violets going through the motions of pretending to be bothered about port vale.

McCombe was decent, POTY one year wasn't he? Cult favourite at the time he was in the side I remember (we were awful then too 😄)

I am not too fussed about bringing in players in this transfer window. We are already down. There is no point spending more money in panic buying. 
 

The squad isn’t good enough and needs to be rebuilt. I believed at the start of the season that we were just unlucky. It’s clear now that it wasn’t just luck. We haven’t been good enough at both ends of the pitch. 
 

What I like about Brady is that he seems to have identified what our issues are in his post match interviews. He is hopefully giving himself a budget for the next transfer window with these sales to bring in players that want the ball and aren’t just here for a pay cheque. Too many players this season like Ojo and Shipley that are always second the ball. In Brady’s language - losing their duels. Hopefully more will leave and they will be replaced in the summer. 
 

Hopefully the new defender is a bargain signing. If he is fast, strong and good in the air than he is already better than any of our other defenders. 

I posted my response on the wrong thread doh! My main thought is that Im pretty sure ojo and garrity was the midfield pairing who got us relegated last time.

Any  offers for Tyler the new center back yet so fast he missed the team sheet🤣

Mccombe and Clayton MacDonald , that was a pacey combination! MacDonald was about 6 foot 7 and Chris Shuker could jump higher.

He was lucky to play for Vale in the first place too.

Remember that it was a former chairman and playing fantasy league football that signed him when we never had a manager in situ

He’s moved to Lincoln for an undisclosed fee 

Its who we now bring in to replace Cole that's the big thing for me
