Don't see the point in Shorrock going to NL. He's L1 standard in many sides. 

Im pretty relaxed. If we can get Scarlett in, that would be amazing. If not, we'll stay up with what we have. No point spending money to appease fans. 

Same goes for Tolaj. His XG this season must be 4, yet he's got one. Not worth breaking a wage structure for. We've come too close to losing the club too many times. Measured investment works for me.

They should review Ruari’s journey here and assess whether they need to make changes to processes in buying players. We penny pinch as it is, so it’s particularly a pain that this one didn’t work out. 

The fee for Ruari was believed to have been around the 150k mark

When we signed him DM was quoted as saying this "Ruari is a player that we've pursued for a good while now and we are absolutely delighted to finally get it over the line" So it's clear that DM wanted him yet he hasn't given him a proper chance to show what he can do and he certainly hasn't been given the chance to show what he can do in L1 given that he has only just come back from injury.

With regards to Paton, the more he doesn’t play the better he seems to get by some fans. He wasn’t good enough in League 2, wasn’t good enough in Scotland, and he won’t be good enough in League 1 sadly.

I would guess Paton's a loan deal. He's under contract till 2027 and I would imagine his wages would be beyond York (with due respect to them). I would think Vale have loaned him out with York paying a portion of his wages. 

From Vale's perspective get some regular football and if you score bags of goals by the New Year then we'll recall you. From York's perspective, we're losing our goal machine on deadline day so here's a temporary replacement.

Every signing we make DM says ‘we have had an eye on him for a long time’ or words to that effect
