Summer transfer rumours and speculation

No I didn't, I didn't mock anyone, I said he was not particularly prolific.

His record is 6 goals in 47 games and going for a 6 figure fee and a 3 year contract seems a bit strong.

I see 6 in 45 on TransferMarkt but in terms of number of 90 minutes played it's 6 in 24, which isn't too bad for a 20 year old.

Ballard has been prolific at youth team level and England youth level. He's played in the Prem too.

There's clearly a lot of ability and potential there, which is why he's fetched a 6 figure fee. I think he'll do well there. He's similar to Kelman.

I wouldn't have been against us signing him personally, although I really think we need a physical striker. Someone to hold it up and get on the end of crosses.

Something very amusing seeing the reaction of going for a NL player over somebody in similar division or youth in a higher league.

Part of me is convinced some really wouldn’t mind if we were knocking about in the NL.

Waiting for confirmation, I wonder if this news is indication that Scarlett “only wants” Plymouth.

For the more advanced in ages, who remembers any loan addition that had made a big impact to PVFC? Arblaster did in recent times, but who remembers  Tony Sealy from Palace? He did turn our fortunes around

Great signing by big John! Could catch pigeons was the phrase. Great goals v appearances.

There's also Chris Killen - who scored six goals in nine games during 2001-2002.

Not sure how legitimate . . .

If he turns out as good as the last player we signed from York city, he’ll do ok.

Moore mentioned last summer we were after a striker who decided to sign in the division below us. I think it was Ollie Pearce who went to York.

York have bizarrely sacked Hinshelwood today. Pearce played for him at Worthing for 6 years and then when Hinshelwood was appointed at York he immediately signed him. Pearce's contract is seemingly up next summer. I wonder if we could reignite the interest there.

31, 40, and 25 league goals in his last three seasons with 36 assists across that timeframe.

A reminder if we do sign Pearce today.

Apparently - Pearce in, Shorrock to York on loan, Paton to York possibly permanently.

Alfie has just said this but he is unsure about whether Ruari is a loan or a permanent transfer. I honestly feel so sorry for Ruari as he hasn't been given the chance to show what he can do and given that he has only just returned from injury as well is seems a bit unfair to either loan him out and make him leave on a permanent deal especially when I thought he did well as a sub against Birmingham last week and had a good pre-season.

Gary Brazil was pretty good, from what little I can remember of him and that time?

Isn't Sproey still mates with him, probably why he has been the agent to a fair number of Forest's youngsters, as Brazil was involved/head of (?) their academy?

Off the top of my head Peter Clarke and Tony Dinning did. Always wished we could have made Clarke a permanent player.
