Proves exactly what a loan is.. an opportunity for young players to develop in a 1st team environment. It’s not game time for a player who is the finished article. Something I think fans forget when they quickly say player X or y is <ovf

I honestly can't remember small starting many games for Vale let alone play.

I get what you mean though , Benicio was the same. Loved at first and then some  vale fans started moaning about him. People need to realise there young players learning the trade still. Has to have something about him if Millwall picked him up

He would be the best defender at the club.

Which one?🤣

Graydon scored against us in the away game last season.

An open goal when we we’d sent every man and his dog up front for a few minutes.

We allegedly scouted Scarr before he went to Birmingham when he was playing non-league for someone like Stourbridge or maybe Bromsgrove.  He is a Blues supporter,  so once they came in for him it was all over. It wouldn't be massive shock if we were interested.  It would probably require either a severance package or a loan where Wrexham still paid a fair percentage of his wage. My query would be is he any better than what we have? I know he played against us for Plymouth but I can only remember him at Walsall.  He was ok but wasn't outstanding. He must be pushing 30, if not slightly over. The game I have a vague memory of we lost by an one goal away but it was quite high scoring. He didn't look that good defensively but I'm pretty sure he scored from a corner.

Always preferred Mufasa anyway.

I’d be chuffed with Scarr. He’s always impressed against us and would really add competition and complete our back line.

If we signed him then I’d really feel that back line is very well stocked for league one.

I agree if we sign Scarr that's our back line sorted for this season as we will be well stocked up in all three areas.

He didn't do much at St Mirren either. Sometimes players need time. Because he was physically so well developed people forget how young he was. He was also so big and relatively fast he probably bullied people in PL 2. It was probably a bit of a shock when he was playing players as strong or stronger.

Quite a random mix of clubs there rumoured. One thing I've found with Pete O'Rourke is a considerable amount of the time he is repeating lines from the players agent and with other clubs knowing we have some money now may as well get used to them using our name.

Seems like only a fortnight ago he was about to move to Rotherham,  Lincoln, Aberdeen,  Plymouth or Wigan! We have done OK with forwards from Fleetwood.  Harrison was ok until he wanted his next signing on fee. Stockley is very good at what he does. Not sure if Fleetwood are out of money again.

How could we have matched the incredible money that Plymouth are paying him?

Our highest paid player is probably byers. Offer him that.....do think Plymouth have paid him a lot more?I'm not sure.but maybe.

For tolaj talent and age it was worth moving heaven and earth..

Cashing in on Tolaj now is part of the business model.

He's been playing as a centre-forward last season. He would be the Tolaj replacement, I imagine. Know nothing about him at all but would fit the developmental model we're pushing with forwards.

I'd hope our model would be to reinvest the Tolaj proceeds into someone younger personally (<23).

I think there is a bit of overstating the importance of Tolaj. Firstly I 100% agree he was our best striker. Last season promotion was very much a team effort. I think he scored 14 league goals 12 from open play. That's the second lowest goals and lowest goals from open play of any promotion since I started attending. He wouldn't get into my top 10 strikers post 1972. I'd be a little surprised if he exceeds 15 goals, particularly if he doesn't take penalties. Robbie Earle was a better midfielder than striker but was a better striker than Tolaj. I wouldn't know where to find the data (someone will) but I wouldn't expect his expected goals to be particularly high. I'd imagine he had a reasonable number of assists. At the moment I don't think he's a Championship player. Potentially he could be in 12 months. If the 1.2 million is true, I think its a good fee for effectively a decent not outstanding league 1 player who is 24 in a couple of months, so fast approaching his peak. If he was 20 or 21 in October he'd be worth a lot more as he would have more time to develop and Premiership or Championship teams would be in for him. That's not to downplay the difficulty in replacing him. Last season our midfield and wingback players didn't really score an awful lot and I'm sure is something Moore will want to improve. Garrity only scored 5 and only Headley or Shorrock (when he played) looked capable of getting a shot on target from the fullbacks. Mitch Clark is a wonderful player until he gets into a goal scoring position, when he turns into Johny Wilkinson. So far this season our centrehalves have got clean headers on a lot of corners and freekicks, they've been quite wasteful at getting those headers between the posts and under the bar.

Alan Nixon has a vale story / rumour being released tomorrow.

He's relatively accurate and an official press member.

Its behind his patreon though and I’m unfortunately not subscribed.

I think Brown will be a massive success, and Faal will be steady and contribute to a lesser extent but still be decent. That’s my prediction anyway.
