I don't think either will get more than the odd 15 minute run out but comparing the two waine has more pace and gets played into goal scoring positions more often but paton is potentially a better finisher but my gut feeling is that both will struggle to get more than 3 or 4 for the season.

 

I'm just feeling really disappointed. I maintain that we have a much, much better squad than last time but I was banking on us adding a decent striker in addition to tolaj and stockley and a dominant cb which would lead to a comfortable mid table finish but instead we have lost tolaj and we still lack a dominant cb although Heneghan has played really well to be fair to him.

 

I really didn't think we would end up losing tolaj and gambling on loanees and a sick note striker again.

He was re-invented by Rudgie as a midfielder for a reason.

He was very good. He scored 19 and 17 goals in 84/5 and 85/6 before Andy Jones came along and he moved to midfield in 86/7.

As I’ve said with O’Rourke you have to bear in mind a lot of his reporting is done directly from a players agent. Who knows if Alan Nixon corroborates that tomorrow on whatever his Vale report is then I’m more inclined to think something is in it but for now sounds like trying to drum up interest.
