Luckily now we have owners that know business. Lorent Tolaj is not a 1.2m striker, yet we got 1.2m because Plymouth needed a Striker asap. Guarantee BG has a minimum fee and I would say it's probably closer to 250k, he's our captain. And if somebody wants him that badly then they will pay it.

I disagree mate but that's what it's all about,differing opinions 🙂

All good mate, it's a forum.

In that scenario would do you think Everton would be able to loan him back to us to play?

Plays for derby, loaned to and plays for port vale, recalled by derby, sold to Everton, loaned to port vale and plays.

I guess so.

I still haven't changed my mind as yet and still think we will pay a decent for a young striker as a Tolaj replacement

Just to clear it up.

In your example because Yeovil are National League then yes, Vale can recall when needed.

Wouldn't be the case for a EFL/PL loan.

Yep those rules only cover The Premier League, The EFL and other "Professional League" around the world. The National League isn't covered by FIFA rules.

Add Waine to that list aswell. I think you can forget Waine, Paton & Curtis as L1 strikers and hope that the 2 loanees come good but that's a big gamble IMO. I worry about Stockley's fitness too. So, history could well turn out to repeat itself unless we do some business asap. I would like to see Paton moved on and replaced with a marquee signing.

Curtis has played at this level before with Portsmouth. So I would t write him off so quickly - he also lead the line really well against Birmingham.

Tolaj, who everyone is crying over, had zero experience at EFL1, but you e just written off Waine and Paton.

Give them a chance - and both are miles better than Loft and Uche

Just my 2' worth - what the hell do I know.

I know I trust DM

I like Curtis but how many goals is he going to get you? Tolaj is head & shoulders above the rest of our strikers. Paton and Waine have not proven themselves at any level yet, let alone L1. I trust DM to get a better striker in by Monday and not rely on what we've got.

They don't Brian. The types of loans we enter into do. Bigger clubs often pay a loan transfer fee and it is all season. Most of our loanees have been first or second loans. Very often we haven't paid the whole salary. It can be whatever the clubs agree. Lower league clubs use it as a cheap way to get players; so have to accept the terms of the bigger clubs.

They still can be called back even with a loan fee. It’s a risk a club takes by paying it.

Our neighbours down the road have been stung by it in the past and have had the managers complaining about it

I do actually own and run a very successful Limited company were solutions are found to very difficult problems everyday.

If that is the case it's exactly the same as employment rules. I'm sure you have read the rules on who you can and can't employ. Its exactly the same for football clubs with who they can and cannot play. There are very clear guidelines for clubs in The EFL and Premier League. There are different ones for clubs below EFL league 2. If you don't follow employment law and immigration do a raid you get a fine. It's exactly the same for a football club. You can be registered with 3 clubs in a season. You can play for a maximum of two clubs in a season.  You can only play for one club after a window closes before another one opens. It doesn't apply to loans any lower in the pyramid. There you can still operate short-term loans. Players up to a certain age (its either 21 or 23 can't remember, fairly certain its 23, as we did it with the ex Crewe player Smurthwaite signed) can still represent their club in EFL Trophy games if they are on a short-term loan to a non-league club.

There is a tweet out there by someone who said their mate works at the club(well he did until he sees his ex mate has tweeted what he has been told)

They say Vale have won the race to sign CB Dan Scarr from Wrexham, now lets not forget that this could just be off someone who has seen that League One clubs have been after him

FFS all I said in a post way back about loan players v permanent players was that if a parent club in exceptional circumstances needed their player back and the club who the player was loaned too was happy for that to happen then I am sure some agreemnt would be made in the best interest of both clubs and the player.   I have never mentioned several quoted items including the senario of 3 clubs and all I got bombarded with was out of context quotes on how everything is totally impossible.

Haven't seen the full thing yet but apparently Tolaj has rubbed vale fans up the wrong way with his latest press comments. One thing that I did hear was he said "agents" how many do you need for league one level ?!

Anyways he's in the past , will always be be grateful for last season but we move on. Least it will make the Plymouth game more spicy

Always difficult.

Does anyone have the link to what Lorent actually said?

OK, finally found it -

And ... what?

Tolaj said: "When my agent called me and said Plymouth wanted me I was straight away happy because I wanted to join this great club. For me it was an easy decision. I feel like Plymouth is a big club and a big stature, and also they have got some good fans so that helps a lot."

Standard new-signing-speak, buttering up the club he has just joined, and saying nothing at all negative about Vale.

Let's not be precious and spoil our positive recollections of a player who was a joy to watch in a Vale shirt, and who has also made our club a fortune over the course of just one year, which can only improve our club.

Ronan Curtis has 42 league one goals in 189 apps, 75 total goal contributions with 33 assists in those 189 games, that’s one contribution just over every 2 league games he’s played at this level…

You could argue we’d struggle even if we spend most of that £1 million to find a statically better finisher and he isn’t actually an out and out forward.

If there is any truth in the Scarr rumour then that would cheer up those wanting an experienced CB

The lad is from Bromsgrove and the other 2 teams interested Plymouth(manager has denied there is anything in it) and Rotherham(they have just signed a CB) so it might have something in it

Just seen the one in question. Can’t help thinking it’s someone on the windup. Only just joined Twitter and this is only tweet has made. I’m sceptical on that one.
