Summer transfer rumours and speculation

No NTVALE I don't in anyway think that loan players can be recalled at "a drop of a hat" because they can't. Talking about loan recalls was a small comment in a bigger topic which has now been taken out of context.  I was initally talking about pro's and con's over loan and permanent players.

Ok fair enough. More cons on signing a permanent player than a loan though. Devine and Arblaster loans were the shining lights of a dreadful season, made up of permanent signings Uche/Loft for example.

Fack we were lucky Cambridge paid a fee for Loft.

Tolaj worked out and made us approx 1m in 1 season. When was the last time we made a profit off a permanent signing?

That's all I was saying, it's not cast iron or set in stone there are options in certain circumstances.

Why not read the FIFA or EFL rules handbook? It is set in stone and written down quite clearly.

I'm not talking Tolaj hefty, but if a Championship Club came sniffing around him now I think we would get a decent fee for our club captain, that decreases of course in January.

A club MIGHT pay 150k if they really want him but i cant even see that tbh, they just need wait until the end of the season and get him for free or for a nominal fee in January maybe,as much as i love Garrity i think his value was a couple of years ago sadly

He can't, certainly not once the window closes. The only exceptions are emergency loan keepers. You can only be registered and play for one club between windows. You can be registered for 3 clubs in a season as you have the 2 transfer windows. You can't,  however, play for the third club who owns your registration during one of the windows. So if we signed a Crewe player in January but wanted to loan him to Salford to develop we wouldn't be allowed to play for us during January. In theory Derby could recall Brown to sell him to Everton in the January window. They could do that but he couldn't play for Everton until next season.  As soon as he steps onto a pitch in a competitive game he can't play for any other club this season apart from us and Derby. Everton can register him but can't play him.

In that scenario would do you think Everton would be able to loan him back to us to play?

Plays for derby, loaned to and plays for port vale, recalled by derby, sold to Everton, loaned to port vale and plays.

People like to just make things up based on what they think they've seen and heard but not researched.

FM is also a very good reference point if you want to not just understand the rules, but get a grasp what clubs typically get involved in with negotiations.

It's also very fun taking Vale up the leagues 😄

Why would they call him back, they can't register him until 1 January. I suppose in theory that could happen between now and Monday night. From Tuesday morning he can't play for Derby again until January.

He has already played for Derby this season, so he is registered. So Derby can request to recall him, we can agree and he can play for them. They can not then loan him out again until January.

Luckily now we have owners that know business. Lorent Tolaj is not a 1.2m striker, yet we got 1.2m because Plymouth needed a Striker asap. Guarantee BG has a minimum fee and I would say it's probably closer to 250k, he's our captain. And if somebody wants him that badly then they will pay it.

If Port Vale really needed James Plant back from his loan in let's say November due to exceptional circumstances I am sure a solution would be found between the 2 parties involved.  Hopefully you don't run a business.

Anthony Grant.

Not sure you understand the rules of the EFL. It is written down in stone (well, on paper). Nothing to do with an agreement between the clubs.

Hopefully you don't run a business and think that the law can be ignored as long as both parties agree?

Just to clear it up.

In your example because Yeovil are National League then yes, Vale can recall when needed.

Wouldn't be the case for a EFL/PL loan.

National League have slightly different rules and windows to the EFL.

Signed on free from Crewe in 2015 in the close season, left 2 years later for about 100K to Posh.

I do actually own and run a very successful Limited company were solutions are found to very difficult problems everyday.
