I can only remember one. He was incredible away at Oxford Utd in our 2nd season a few games into AC’s tenure. His best game in a Vale shirt.

Pope was asked yesterday if any Vale players stood out for him and he said he knew Tolaj was good but he didn't realise he was far better than he thought and said he was at LEAST a Championship player,also said Walters and Gabriel were different class(he did add that it was only a friendly but he could tell the quality of those 3 in particular)

I'm not particularly interested in their worldview, even the sensible ones.

Crosby seemed  to get the best out of Ojo and when he departed thereafter Ojos attitude stunk. As regards him coming back no thanks , who needs a bad apple.  If anyone is returning for a 2nd chance much prefer it to be someone with the right attitude such as Paton.

Crazy thought I know but why don't we trust DM to decide on Ojos attitude? For his faults, I don't think DM would tolerate any bad attitude or Pope era shenanigans in any way shape or form.

People were up in arms at the temerity of Walters to explore his options and decided they never wanted to see him in a Vale shirt again. Not too many saying that now.

Reading their forum someone supposedly usually ITK says its a player whos "played all over the world" and has scored goals in L2and NL so a lot of jumping on Tolly (although the Swiss youth system isn't exactly playing all over the world), Jatta is another and that Pepple who was at Chesterfield on loan last season.

Their striker has just gone to Qatar.

Could be Tolaj but would surely command a 7 figure fee if so with two years to run plus the cost we'd need to find an adequate replacement.

His 2 great crimes were:

1 Basically calling the fans idiots who needed educating. At least 1 person with a statue outside the ground told players the same thing behind closed doors. Ben Garrity got away with it, mainly due to his near legendary status.

2 Saying he was sad a manager was sacked in public when the majority of the fan base had turned against him. The majority of those inside the club shared his view but were wise enough to say nothing.

As you say Moore wouldn't have anyone with a bad attitude anywhere near the squad. If he's in the squad then Moore obviously thinks he's OK. He probably needs to keep his mouth shut in public and it doesn't help that English is his second, possibly third, language (French or Flemish will be first) so he probably doesn't understand the inference people sometimes put on his words. Moore gave his the Captaincy several times, including a cup game just before he went on loan. It would be unusual to do that if he thought his attitude was poor. I'd be surprised if Moore rates him more highly as a player than Walters, Byers, Croasdale or Garrity.  That just means he sees them as better players.

Being a pedant, Tolaj hasn't scored a goal in League One yet!
