True….and Jamie Vardy had never played a league game never mind scored a league goal before he went to Leicester

His 2 great crimes were:

1 Basically calling the fans idiots who needed educating. At least 1 person with a statue outside the ground told players the same thing behind closed doors. Ben Garrity got away with it, mainly due to his near legendary status.

2 Saying he was sad a manager was sacked in public when the majority of the fan base had turned against him. The majority of those inside the club shared his view but were wise enough to say nothing.

As you say Moore wouldn't have anyone with a bad attitude anywhere near the squad. If he's in the squad then Moore obviously thinks he's OK. He probably needs to keep his mouth shut in public and it doesn't help that English is his second, possibly third, language (French or Flemish will be first) so he probably doesn't understand the inference people sometimes put on his words. Moore gave his the Captaincy several times, including a cup game just before he went on loan. It would be unusual to do that if he thought his attitude was poor. I'd be surprised if Moore rates him more highly as a player than Walters, Byers, Croasdale or Garrity.  That just means he sees them as better players.

I've always felt Ojo has ability just his lazy half soaked performances/attitude once Crosby was sacked has turned people against him(coupled with his comments as you say). He may be different in training who knows but tends to have that Constantine style on the pitch(for want of a better way of putting it) so when he and team play poorly he's one of the automatic first scapegoats.

I think he's had long enough in the UK to understand enough English he was at Wigan and Aberdeen before Vale remember and is also married to an English/British lady I believe(the one who makes the old kits into other clothes/sewing)?  Shrewsbury fans thought exactly the same as us about him, played well in the odd game but was generally lazy(although he was far from the only one as they had a pretty crappy season all told).  I'd be surprised if we see him in a Vale shirt again at least in the league(unless we have a bad injury crisis in CM).

Indeed. That wasn't a criticism of Tolaj btw it was more in answer to valefan16s post that a Plymouth fan had said it was someone who had scored goals in League One. Technically it can't be Tolaj if that's the case😁

Apologies, corrected meant L2 and NL

So far 5 contracted first team squad regulars (Smith, Sang, Harper, Lowe, Chislett) have been in all likelihood upgraded by Humphreys, Gabriel, Gordon, Shipley and Richards.

Other contracted players released had negligible involvement - Buah, Jones and Edwards.

Basically just leaves the loanees (Rico, Hackford, Umolu, Brooke, Ashworth) with only the first 2 having any meaningful first team involvement.

No doubt some current contracted players may yet move on, but all in all quite well placed at this stage of pre season.

On Ojo - i've worked for some great sales managers who motivated me; I've also worked for some utter tw@ts.  I've been lucky enough in my life to have worked with one or two people who I consider to be truly geniuses yet many, many idiots that I wouldn't pay in washers.

As I understand it, Flickers sold it to Ojo to stay and that we would build a great team around him and that Cros would take us up the league - and we didn't.  We bought in poor resources and the dream went sour.

As for him today - I know there are many on here who thinks he's crap; I don't - I think he's a fairly good player and has some talent.  If there is one manager who can get a tune out of him i'd say its DM.

Lets see what he can do.  Fans are fickle (see the comments earlier ref Walters) and, IF he plays and IF he does well I can see people easily singing his name again.

I partly agree. I think he's one of our better players for sure, but I'm not sure he's going to be up for Mooreball, and if he's not going to enjoy it and produce his best then it might be best if we go our separate ways. He didn't particularly enjoy the football under Clarke and waxed lyrical about how much better it was under Crosby. If he didn't enjoy that he's got no hope with this.

Ojo has a remarkable record of:

- getting relegated

- nearly getting relegated

- falling out with managers

- leaving clubs under clouds

That’s no comment on his ability, and maybe it’s just coincidental that he never leaves a club happy.

I was thinking that, wasn’t 100% certain

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but has anything been mentioned by DM regarding Garrity, is he injured or not fully match fit yet?

Tolaj to Plymouth one of their fans reckon is going around at their end.

Plymouth's entire set-up, including Home Park, is not equal to the £20 million which Lorent Tolaj is worth.

Of course we’ve signed Rico permanently now.
