I think the signing of Marosi is a decent one but now i am intrigued to see what happens with Foster because should we sign him then where will that leave Amos(who i also think is a very good keeper)

Signing Foster would seem an unnecessary luxury to have 3 GK’s plus our own Davies. Even if we sent Davies out on loan he could still be recalled quickly so don’t see Foster signing.

The Welsh binman was the best keeper I've seen in a Vale shirt. Didn't play a lot of games. Within a year a lot of people were acclaiming him the best keeper in Europe.  He made a save against Bury away that would have been on any video reel as one of the greatest ever - if there had been video! Arguably Jim Arnold was the second best at Vale and within a few months Southall had taken his position at Everton.

Probably without a contract. I know Amos is 35, not sure how close to 36. I still expect him to start the season as first choice. He's a solid league 1 keeper with plenty of Championship  experience. Equally he's of an age when the body starts to creek.  It's conceivable we could be looking at Foster with a view to the season after.

Agreed I remember Bury away…. What a save…. Then Jim Arnold as you say was great once the Welsh gunman had left.

The Cambridge fans I know were gutted when he got injured possibly because they knew Jack Stevens would have to play 🤦, but even though they only saw him for 2 games, they’ve still said today Marko was a far better keeper - they can’t believe how Jack Stevens has got a gig at Reading (they also asked if we’d have Mr Loft back for free along with a bag of balls to sweeten the deal).

Sadly there can't be may people who watched that save still with us. The away end was pretty full but I'm guessing maybe 900 Vale fans. I think I was about 14 and we got into a scuffle with some home fans leaving the ground. I've never seen a save on a par live and I'd rank it above the Banks save against Pele. We wouldn't have gone up that season without him. I think we sneaked a 1 0 win with a Geoff Hunter goal and the shot was from Tommy Gore?

My wife speaks 6 languages fluently and did all her schooling in English. I speak 3 pretty well and a couple of others conversationally. I had to learn Arabic in the military in 1988 and I've spent about 20 years in Arabic countries since in various contexts. I got pulled up tonight (in a polite way) for using a word for famous that in the context I used it means notorious in a negative way. My wife quite often says odd things that don't quite mean what she means. You never learn every nuance of a language unless you are born into it. Very few British people can hold a press conference in a foreign language and I suspect unless you have been in the position to do so it's impossible to understand how difficult it is to do. I'd imagine it's even harder straight after a game of football. It's pretty hard to pass judgement until you have conducted business meetings in your second or third language.

Shorrock is very up and down but very young so can grow into a Lee Sharpe type player

I will be amazed if that is anywhere near true tbh,I am sure with 2yrs still left on his deal we call all the shots in this,if and when he goes it will be for more than 800k but only my opinion
