Of Waine's 25 appearances for Mansfield 23 were as sub.

Waine was well liked at Plymouth according to two plymouth supporting mates of mine, who have actually watched him play virtually every game for them, they say he just wasn't given a fair crack there but did well for them when he played(mainly as sub). Being honest I would sooner go on their judgement than fans of a club he was loaned to and it just clearly didn't work out there for him.

So I am ok with him coming here,he is exactly the run in behind with a bit of pace striker DM has been after and just to add he has also done very well for New Zealand.

I hope he plays v Mansfield and scores 3 🙂

Hes scored 3 league goals for them in nearly 2 and a half seasons. Loft and uche came in with better records.

He'll get 10 games before any proper judgement like every player that plays for us. Doesn't make it a logical signing.

That’s not a good sign.

Doesn’t mean everything and no point undermining a player until they get the chance. I didn’t rate or like Loft but helping nobody if we write them off before they kick a ball.

Also Stockley under contract for one more year and likely on good money; we know what he offers and Tolaj too. It is always going to be different to upgrade the first XI without shifting these on or upsetting them. We recruited 3 strikers last summer and ended up having to send Paton out for game time.

Let’s wait and see IMO. I think we might look at loans now and wouldnt expect further perm signings unless it makes sense.

Maybe not to some fans but obviously logical to the management and recruitment team and that will do for me.

Waine said in his interview that Vale were chasing him before the season finished so clearly this is a planned bit of business by the recruitment team and not a panic measure and lets be honest they haven't got many wrong, well imo anyway

Lee darnbrough has been in since the end of the season so it's not the same team.

Surely you dont think we have ditched any targets we had for his? I think he will be used more in January unless I am misreading what you mean.

He himself says the club were interested before the end of the season and we had someone come on here and give us his name a few weeks back saying we had been in talks with him since May

Not sure what the point of this is supposed to be? They don’t just throw all the old previous work out the window. Means very little there’s been a small change there.
