That's absolute nonsense.

Why? He started the season got dropped and got sent to Colchester at the first opportunity. He's been brilliant since he came back.

weren't particularly loved by their previous fans at L1 level

Not sure why this matters or means anything? Would likely not be at a newly promoted side if already coveted by an established L1 side. It doesn’t seem like we’ve spent on transfer fees this time around?

Tolaj, Debs, Walters, Shorrock, John have never really played at the level.

To our benefit if they kick on and impress as they will command fees and we can reinvest that in the squad.

Hate to say trust the process, but…

Think it was Harry Redknapp who said once he’s paid to watch and judge players. Easiest job in the world to judge from the sideline but the manager should always know better than us really.

Nonsense, again.

He didn't get dropped. These are the last 13 games before we sold him:

He missed 4 games the entire time he was with us in League 1.

We sold him as he lived in Cambridgeshire and was commuting 2.5 hours a day each way, and we cut some costs that January.

He wasn't as good as he was in League 2 but please don't make stuff up mate.

Hes scored 3 league goals for them in nearly 2 and a half seasons. Loft and uche came in with better records.

If your signing someone to be 4th or 5th choice striker then they arent going to come in with a great pedigree else youd be signing them to be a constant starter? What are you expecting id much prefer someone like him than another umulo or whatever his name was

Happy with the keeper signing but the Waine one for me is one I am not sure about, a guy who could not get into an awful Mansfield side in the new year.  I don't buy into this it will be hard to bring someone in to sit on the bench because we have Tolaj and Stockley, the latter who will be 32 a month into the new season and suffered at the end of the season with back issues.  I still maintain that I would have liked to have seen at least 3 or 4 faces that would have been starters but unlikely that is going to happen, feel only the lad from Rotherham is better than what we had here last season.  We are going to be taking a big gamble with asking the side that got us promoted to keep us up in such a tough unforgiving league.  I feel we have to keep the likes of Tolaj and Stockley fit, get more games out of Garrity and Byers than we did last season.  Apologies for the moan and being negative, just felt more excited last year with the signings we had made than this year.

We won 5 of his last 8, keeping 4 clean sheets. We were 10th in the table when he left.

He wasn't quite as brilliant but the idea he was dropped and sold because he was rubbish is just made-up nonsense. He was a regular in an upper mid-table side.

If he was up to the level why didn't a L1 team near his house take a chance on him?

I take your point that he wasn't "dropped" but come on, he was miles off it.

If you have 4 - 5 strikers who have a history of scoring goals then on paper it looks great however ten games in when 3 of them arent getting game time they will not be happy as they wont want to be sitting on the bench. Therefore creating a unhappy camp. Signing players like waine hes coming in to try and prove himself but he will know he has to take his chances he wont be knocking on the door first game of season asking moore why he isnt starting upfront infront of tolaj. Its up to him to take the shirt off someone id much prefer have that than someone sulking on the bench looking for a move because they havent got game time.

Why dont we wait to see how we look first game of season before being negative . The players we signed last year were probably with half an eye on making the step up to league one. We have a way more competitive squad this year. The back ups will be pushing the starting 11 on now as they know the person waiting to take their place all have quality and they will all have to raise their games because of this.

If he was miles off it, how did we keep 4 clean sheets in his last 8 games, win 5 of them, and be sat 10th in the table? How did we only lose 6 of the 20 games he played (three of which were to Ipswich, Wednesday, and Portsmouth)?

He was part of a perfectly decent League 1 side who promptly collapsed when he departed. Miles off it is a huge exaggeration.

There’s that, and there’s complaining that players at our team that were playing League 2 last season haven’t been plying their trade in League 1 already.

I don’t know, I think some need to temper expectations a bit. We just aren’t going to be able to recruit an entire squad every season with divisional experience.

I think we've done really well to bring in experience of players who aren't cooked. Prime age and hundreds of games at this level or above. We didn't do that last time.
