Absolutely, he was actually ok for us. To quote you he didn't tear up trees but was a steady player.

Lovely goal in the snow v Stevenage.

I thought he was <ovf censored>. Poor player in a poor team.

Was at the friendly think paton got frustrated he didn't have an impact. Probably thinking of his spot and career.

Make or break for him this pre season i think

Did someone find one of Smurthwaite's old catalogues lying around?

Under contract I think so would cost a fee,I wonder if this is one from the head of recruitment as it seems pretty random for a player who only joined his club in January

GK and ST trialists does this mean our budget is at the upper limit before players leave?
Do we have players we are interested in but can’t make a move as selling club waiting on transfers to conclude before the player is available?
Are we just doing due diligence with trialists in the hope of uncovering another John?
No problem checking out trialists but I would like to see a more experienced ST to be alternative/cover for Stockley.

Not a case of cutting costs according to DM’s interview where it was implied that they were being a bit more selective in looking at trialists, focusing on areas where we are short on numbers.

Is an El Nino about to hit Burslem?

He certainly spent a lot of time shaking his head and shouting 'F***!'

I hope he gets a break and builds some confidence as I don't think we've seen the best of him.

I misread 😳.  My fault.

Either way Kian still a tool.

But amazed Hannant got another league gig.

He's had quite a few league 2 gigs, including the Cambridge promotion.  Made the foolish decision to leave them for Colchester. He only dropped down a level 2 years ago and scored regularly for Gateshead.  I believe Askey saw him as a bit of a party boy which played a part in us releasing him. Unusually for a lower league player he was two footed. I think he has about 200 EFL appearances. I can see why he got another league club.

T Sang to Shrewsbury ,not a world beater but improved considerably last season will do a good job for them his sending offs were bizarre and unwarranted in my opinion and none were reds in my opinion

Hannant well i suppose he was ok, scored a good goal v Stokes kids, and at times had a bit of something but my memory is not great so cannot recall him being great too often

Agree re Sang.

Don't remember exactly when Hannant was with us, but probably at a time when we were pretty average at best.

It's hard to look good in a poor team.

That's being extremely generous

Hannant had his best spell at Cambridge where he either played on the left or at the top of a diamond. We played him more as an out and out winger. I don't think he was quite quick enough over distance to excel in that role on a pitch the size of Vale Park.

Sang was at his best on the right of the back 3 for me. He didn't really have the pace to do what Moore wanted at Wingback. Maybe he'd more more effective on a smaller pitch?

You can have an experienced player on trial as well but I take your point, it would likely be one not readily fixed up with a contact at a club.
