 Gabriel and Richards were names fans would recognise.  Gordon and Shipley aren't names you'd pick from a list of out of contract players. I probably only really remember one player a game from the opposition - either particularly good or bad. The only real exceptions in 45 years was Carlisle this season when I thought Harris and Dennis were particularly good.  Jordan and Shipley weren't on my list for either reason, just a vague fog with most of their respective sides.

A positive with making signings early is they will be high on Moore's wanted list for whatever is master plan is for 25/26. Must be honest I'm still not 100% sure I know the plan.

I thought 2xCB’s but after the Gordon signing I’ve pivoted to  1xCB now,treating John RCB.

I’m holding off 2x strikers expecting us to take a look at Paton in preseason which is why I think 1.

Agree with you will be outs. Hart the obvious one. Shorrock I expect to be sold to PL then the rest is moving parts filling with loans if necessary.

WB’s and Midfield we look incredibly strong. We’ve added pace in those positions and Rico. 

We’ve had a good window so far, will be an excellent one should we secure an experienced L1 CB and good competition/backup to Stockley

Ive always thought he looked a decent player when he played against us . Especially in the away game against them in the relegation season.

There’s still 3 months (11 weeks) of the transfer window left so as you say plenty of time for more ins and outs, though it’s quite comforting we’re getting a lot of our business done before pre-season training really kicks off.

Regards today’s signing, watching the Coventry montage reminds me a little of what we were perhaps expecting from Connor Grant at this level - technically good, sweet left foot… this time around though it’s a player without a dodgy injury/fitness record. Can’t recall the last time we had so many left footed players in the squad and we probably still need another to compete with Connor Hall in the LCB slot.

I mean it can be pretty demoralising playing in bad teams fans expect you to give everything and they should with money they earn. But like anything if you are working / playing with people that have no hope you sometimes cant blame people for throwing the towel in. Vale is a pretty stable club atm with some very good individuals i think we will see the better version of him.

Even if he is ahead of croasdale (and if he is then it’s a cracking signing), i cant see him plying ahead of Byers, Walter’s and Garrity. I think Walters is going to be a beast this season.
