Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Even if he is ahead of croasdale (and if he is then it’s a cracking signing), i cant see him plying ahead of Byers, Walter’s and Garrity. I think Walters is going to be a beast this season.

My vague memories of Shipley is he's more Louis Dodds than Ryan Croasdale.  So really it depends more on what the manager wants in his midfield blend. When fit I think Walters and Garrity are almost certain starters. If he's fully fit I'd imagine Byers would be the 3rd one. If he ends up performing ahead of the other 4 he'll be some signing!

I’m very happy with all the signings and re-signings so far. Lots of League experience, all played 30+ last year, many in the league above and have played in the Championship as well. The new signings seem to be competent in more than 1 position and they are going in to challenge an already very strong and balanced squad. Just go and look up the full squad from the first game of League 1 last time out, and you’ll see night and day difference but for standout loanees that were realistically an Aug-Dec sticking plaster. I look forward to seeing some decent loans coming in, but only supplementary and not being built around. The squad is much better now than the one that has just earned promotion, and it’s still developing.

Garrity is a starter no doubt, but going in to the season without someone decent and naturally ready to cover him would be crazy based on last season. I’d get 2 10s / attacking mids in for total security in that vital area, hopefully Shipley is one of them.

Gabriel and Richards were names fans would recognise.  Gordon and Shipley aren't names you'd pick from a list of out of contract players. I probably only really remember one player a game from the opposition - either particularly good or bad. The only real exceptions in 45 years was Carlisle this season when I thought Harris and Dennis were particularly good.  Jordan and Shipley weren't on my list for either reason, just a vague fog with most of their respective sides.

A positive with making signings early is they will be high on Moore's wanted list for whatever is master plan is for 25/26. Must be honest I'm still not 100% sure I know the plan.

As long as big DAZ knows the plan is all that matters, all we can do as supporters is get behind him and whatever team he chooses to play on a match day, some will have high expectations and some not so high, but in the word's of the late great Tony Boult... were VALE aren't we 👍 UTV VTID

I don't really think Moore used Garrity as an attacking midfield player last season.  He was more box to box, as was Croasdale.  I think Croasdale actually scored more from open play than Ben. I'd quite like to see him used further forward as I think he is still probably our best finisher. Moore doesn't seem a big fan of a 10. When he plays 352 he likes one sitting and 2 as inside forwards on either side.

I think so far Shipley and Gabriel will be the two first team players, I can see Shipley starting ahead of Croasdale and then Gabriel clearly at RWB. Squad is looking much stronger now. A couple more first team additions at the back and up top (and for me a keeper but I know I’m in the minority there) and we should have a very solid league 1 side

Going to have one heck of a good bench this season to call upon.

Please excuse if I have missed someone's brilliant predictions, but is it not the case that all of our new signings (as opposed to the several re-signings, including Rico) have arrived completely under the radar?

Without any of the names of Jordan Gabriel, Liam Gordon or Jordan Shipley even being mentioned here as a possibility?

Fair play to the club for staunching all of the former leaks, it's a much more professional operation.

But for those of us who enjoy the sort of speculations included in this thread, we are really going to have to up our spying prowess ... 🙂

Jordan Gabriel was linked with us a couple of weeks before it happened

All the players who came in before are all black so far 😄 Though I’m sure it has nothing to do with our recruitment. just good to see how much more diverse our team is compared to last we went up too.

What a bizarre thing to come out with.

Pick that one out!

Thatll do us!👍

GK backup
Main man at CB
Stockley insurance policy then I think we are done.
I agree with you we look like a really solid L1 squad.
I really like our approach to the window with profile of players we have signed.

Really ?

2 strikers will come in
Another attacking midfielder
2 x centre half’s
And a keeper

I think a few will leave too
Hart , plant , shorrock ( loan )

My mate who's a cov season ticket holder reckons Shirley's a good goal scoring midfielder with a good left foot,  lacks pace for the championship, but good for league one.

No pressure from the Bradford owner for next season

From his last season played Shipley looks like a lowe, a squad player. Can't see him overthrowing anyone in our midfield as a first pick unless I am massively missing something.
