Summer transfer rumours and speculation

I think it will still be a case of the best we can afford. The gulf between average Championship salaries and League 1 is massive,  about 6k a week. If we can get the right player within our budget I'm sure we will. Equally there are some good players in most league 2 sides who probably can make the jump. We won't be able to compete with recently relegated sides for obvious targets so Moore is going to need to look at all avenues to improve us.

Good point about the salaries m8 👍

Headley, Clark, John, Shorrock (Getting better every game) and Sang (A much improved player since we were last in L1) seems like a pretty well stocked wingback department to me?

I kind of see both sides to this argument, sang isn't a wingback, shorrock is good but young. I don't think we need 3 wingbacks but there's definitely scope to bring some in

The average salary at the moment in The Championship is currently 10k a week, 520k per year. Our current budget seems to be circa 3.5m. That's enough for just under 7 Championship players; which is crazy.

Article in the Swindle advertiser suggesting as Ripley family in Preston a permanent move looks unlikely.

Maybe end up at Salford .

As long as he doesn’t come back here.

I'm not saying who, but it's possible we might sell a prized asset to help fund a rebuild for L1 (assuming we go up🤞).  I can think of several players who have excelled recently who might well be interesting top L1 or even Championship sides. A good sale, along with a clear out, could release a considerable wedge.

We certainly dont need to sell to fund a rebuild but if offers come in we cant refuse then so be it

Surely the best thing for Ojo is a move from Vale when the window re-opens?

Or failing that, I can see another season-long loan deal in the summer.

After all, is he really going to get in ahead of (the highly promising) Walters, Croasdale and Byers?

Ojo certainly has no future here

Have to say I’m glad he didn’t come back. Not the worst player but with interviews like these ones he keeps doing seems a very self serving individual. Frankly he doesn’t get in over any of our existing midfielders in any case. My guess he’ll be transfer listed or loaned out somewhere like Tranmere if Croz gets it permanently.

On subject of loanees Diamond Edwards now returned from his loan not that I think he has much future here either. Worth a punt but it’s not worked.

Ojo simply needs to be on his way this summer. Misery follows him everywhere:

24/25: Shrews relegated

23:24: Vale relegated

22/23: Vale almost relegated

21/22: Fined after being found guilty for punching a supporter in the face

20/21: Wigan almost relegated

18/19: Scunthorpe relegated

16/17: Willem II almost relegated

15/16: Dordrecht relegated

13/14: Released after falling out with Hasselbaink at Antwerp

12/13: Released after falling out with Jacky Mathissjen at Beerschot

Maybe he's just incredibly unlucky

Thats frightening - Going against the OVF popular opinion, I never thought he downed tools last season, he was just on the same level of crapness as the rest of em 😁😁
