I'd argue 1st keeper.

We really need to sort out the wide defensive positions, as you elude to in point 4. We cannot be lining up with Plant and Sang at wingback again. 2/3 in required alongside John and Clark.

100%, but we have Headley too. I know he only played 5 games but looks a player to me. He's more than good enough I reckon.

Headley, Clark, John, Shorrock (Getting better every game) and Sang (A much improved player since we were last in L1) seems like a pretty well stocked wingback department to me?

Absolutely. From what I've seen of Headley, John and Clark this season, none will have any issue in L1. Shorrock and Sang as back ups/rotation options are perfectly adequate. Least concerning area of the squad for me.

Shorrock is a kid. We did it to Plant in the 23/24 season, thrown in at the deep end in L1. Getting targeted and run absolutely ragged every week was negative for his development. Blackpool away was torture.

Sang is still a defensive liability. It has been commented on frequently on here when he's been stuck in that position this season. He can't defend, keep him where he excels which is further up the pitch.

Jones will be off. Hart in L1 makes me nervous. Clark has a poor injury record. On reflection, I think we need three new wide defenders at the very least.

I think you are doubling down on a point with 3 more wingbacks. Jones was mainly a centrehalf and wasn't in the squad.

I'm fairly sure Clark will be offered a contract.  John and Headley have contracts for next season.  We can only have 22 registered players over 21, so I don't see us making it up to 6 wingbacks. I think there will be one. They'll then make a decision about James Plant. I think his birthday is 2 months before the cut-off date to be an under 21.

I think he'll go 5 wingbacks 6 centrehalves (one able to play fullback) 6 midfield 5 forwards.

I hope I am totally wrong but i aren't 100% that Clark will stay and there could be a bid for Shorrock who knows,I would still like to see one wing back come in.... as i said earlier I would be looking at Imray from Millwall

I saw this posted elsewhere. Ours like a big number but I think a more accurate measure would be agent fees per signings.

Some homework for me later.

How do kids get experience if we aren’t prepared to have them as backups? I have no problem with either Plant or Shorrock as backup WB’s.

I think we need 3 senior WB’s  - the issue is the injury records of Clarke and John to lesser extent.

That’s the conundrum.

I aren't saying we should sign him but i noticed a player who got mentioned on here last summer Ollie Pearce(eventually went to York) has scored 30 goals and has 9 assists in the National league for them, just shows there are players who can step up and do it even lower than the National league ... look at Kone at Wycombe as well

On a side note York are actually loaded(no idea how that happened) and they are destined for League 2,I will fancy them to have a crack at it next season

I think the management team if(i do need to keep saying if) we go up will be making some tough decisions on contracts and some we wont agree with that's a given but it's what they are paid for and we have to trust them as they didn't do to bad last summer

We might also be surprised on who comes in as well i guess

I believe we were after Pearce. Moore talks of a striker who chose to sign for a National League club.

Wasn't that in January when he said that? If it was then it was Josh Stones who also chose to go to York
