Two experienced players have turned down new contracts at Northampton

28yr old RB Aaron McGowan wants to move closer to his family in Liverpool and 30yr old midfielder Mitch Pinnock

Both want to move closer to home so no chance of Pinnock coming. McGowan is more of a defender than a wingback. I don't see him as someone who fits into our system unless he was going to play right centrehalf.  The player released by Northampton who could be a fit for us is T J Eyoma. More of a specialist right centrehalf who is best in a 3. I think they moved to a back 4 last season and he struggled thereafter.

Where have you read this? Seems like he played well in a crap team last year

Football League World.

It will be all about wages, players will move.

But what can we pay?

Loads of players available.

Hope we dont go stupid.

Not sure if Carlisle have bought Linney because Dennis is moving on, or because they have a lot of money. I know Hughes has said he plans to use Armstrong next season and it was a poor decision to loan him out. They spent money on Georgie Kelly who has mainly played Championship football in January and was the other forward when we played them. Not sure which other forwards are still on their books. If they still think Dennis is staying that's some group of forwards at Conference level! Certainly a stronger bench than we had at any point last season.

At the moment I think we have 16 over 21 players. That include James Plant, who is 31 days too old to be an under 21 I think. It also includes Ojo and Patton,  both would need to impress preseason I suspect. I don't expect us to reach the maximum squad size, or if we do it would include Plant. My guess is 21 including Plant. I'm thinking 5 incoming until decisions are made on Ojo and Patton, plus a keeper. That's assuming Clark stays. Carrol won't let the budget go beyond what she's budgeted to lose. Sadly in modern football the budget is really down to the size of owner subsidy. Longterm it will implode but as Keynes said in the longterm  we'll all be dead!

Big season for James Plant as he needs to show he is good enough to hold a regular squad position as a fully fledged professional.

"Initial 2 year deal" in the press release.

Good signing with great pedigree at this level and above, and still a great age. Welcome Jordan!

That’s an early signing……………….…….8:25 am on a Saturday morning!

RE the new kit, how big’s the queue outside the club shop?
