I'm going to be called a right negative Norman but I feel that the next 2 games as they are, Sang out for 4 games, Smith right side of centre and Clark possible being out the rest of the season is going to cost us auto promotion and with as tight as things are maybe even play offs

If the manager puts Smith right side of a 3 we are doomed. If you play him he has to be in the centre.
Mitch out.
Sang suspended as they’ve made the crazy decision of not appealing it.
To be fair mate I’d bring in Brandon Cover.
Oh. Hang on. We sent him packing.
And this is what I moaned about and got ridiculed for.

Just pray that Stockley and Tolaj last the pace from now until May.

I am absolutely devastated, I thought we had a chance tonight. Although we played a huge club like Wrexham I still had belief, gutted we couldn't win and pull a bigger premierleague side.

We go again next season. UTV

The 1200 Vale folk who went can take heart heart that Rico Richards should have made it 2-0 and Hackford from another excellent header down by Curtis should have made it 3-0.

After that it was a bit of a shitshow but overall I'm usually screaming at the players when I see a lack of effort or I see things, I don't like but after seeing Clark then Richards hobbling off I thought get out of this competition ASAP .

Positives Curtis and Rico Richards .

Negatives not enough desire keep the ball out of our net from most and how can a player stay on all game and have no impact whatsoever .

Straight away I could what was wrong the formation forv one less defenders and push Harper in alongside Walters and Lowe  and get about them quicker remove anonymous Hackford and put on Tolaj earlier

Oh well to be a manager hey

I’d rather we didn’t go again next season in this tinpot cup.

Jack Shorrock is a talented young player.

Your knowledge of football is questionable.

He is, but there’s a difference between having talent and being effective in games. Football is about far more than just looking good on the ball. He has a lot to learn about playing men’s football.

10 hours ago, worldsendvalefan said:

I think the biggest problem with Shorrock, is that he is not a natural defender. He is a natural winger and very good at it given the chance. I feel he is being wasted in the wing back role. He is a forward not a defender. Unfortunately our manager doesn't like to play with wingers and a back four

After that please don't defend Shorrock # rubbish.

As already mentioned, he isnt a defender, he isnt strong enough or have the ability or desire to defend like a full back would IMO. I would argue that he has no place in our current formation.

Has the question been asked why?

Darren?
Carol?
Matt?

Please explain!

They are the people with the experience of these situations and they know the probability of winning an appeal is low, that’s why.

Was DM asked about Mitch in his interview afterwards? I’ve not seen or heard anything.

Also the young goalkeeper first game and all that when the ball is flashing across your area goal 2 and 3 and 4 you got be out mopping it up not standing there like a cone .

So very poor all over there goals soft as, they come first one crikey doesn't anyone want get stuck in, just let him waltz through score horrendous play from probably 3 Players of Vale Debrah the midfielder who's let him go either Lowe or Walters or both .

It was like watching the Grimsby game again in second half first half was OK generally apart from goal I've just commented on .

Wondered why Moore has kept same team last 4 games bar the odd change has he doesn't usually , has he fell out with majority of the second string, he played last night as it seemed like it too me .

UTV hope Clark and Rico are  alright .

Every year we get to this stage then turn in shocking performances .

In future just got out in group stages as may aswell if only going use the games when get to the business end of competition for match fitness

😆 Yeah, not sure I'd have gone if given choice again.

But it gets me out of the house tbh mate - remote worker new to the area again so going the Vale's my social thing. 👍

Welcome back to the area! Been in my new house since 20/12.

Looking at Saturday if we don’t get the red overturned I’m guessing we have to go:

John Smith henneghan Hall Headley

Thats fine but one injury there and we’re straight into a choice of Deborah or Hart. I think we should have brought someone in at the back or kept cover. Henneghan is useful in some games and not others, depending on the opposition, for me we’re short a decent Cb as cover

Still free agents knocking around if we get desperate but I think we are OK if you work on the basis of 2 players per position.

I wonder if we have a recall clause for Planty?

If so I would bring him back now in light of Mitch's injury.

I never want to see Vale lose , not even tonight , but I’m glad this competition is behind us now , after paying the price to lose Clark. They really should end this joke of a trophy . It’s pointless .

Problem is that the final will be something like Bolton or Wrexham v Birmingham in front of 70'000 and be deemed a rousing success.

Always find the mid week games a bit drab these days / no away support / smaller crowd with no time for a few pints pre game.

Welcome to the area though

Given how slow Moore is at introducing players into the squad bringing anybody else in would be pointless.

Ashworth will be lucky to get half a dozen appearances and will mostly be consigned to the bench unless we have injuries in the midfield requiring another body. Even then, is he likely to get in ahead of Lowe?

I don't expect us to bring anybody else in now unless it's really bad.

Planty would be a bad call tbh, he's not a wingback and chances are if Moore is still in charge next season is moved on.

This is our biggest worry and weak spot in the team now if anything happens. I'm not seeing enough from Hackford to be confident in him stepping in. Umolu seems a gamble and a half.

Curtis tried last night because he needs to show he's deserving of a first team spot still but he's not a forward.

Thanks pal, unlike some people on here who want to slate Stoke (I do a bit tongue in cheek as well, like 😆), I love it here. And it's good to be able to come support the Vale every week again after years away in London 👍

Could always stick Ben Lomax in there

Youd have kept 4 players covering the RWB position because you saw Sang's red and mitch's injury coming?

To be fair Mitch’s injury record is becoming alarming now. Him & John can also play on the left side if needed. Sang can do a job there but is more suited to RCB going off what we’ve seen this season. You’d think Cover would have maybe asked for a move back to LCFC to find another club on loan as his appearances had become limited of late. Maybe it wasn’t in our hands around Brandon Cover 🤷‍♂️ We could certainly do with him now though 😅
