Port Vale v Wrexham match thread - 4th Feb (formerly 7th Jan)

It’s the manner of the performance Andy.
There is a way to lose a football match and that wasn’t it.
That performance tonight shows that almost half of this squad, going into the business end, can’t be arsed.
So dismiss it mate. But that was unacceptable tonight for any player wearing the shirt.
And you should know better than most. We got to an Anglo Italian cup final back in the day. Where we had to travel to Italy in the group games with a far less squad than today.
And got outclassed in the final.

We didn’t get outclassed tonight.
We got battered by Wrexham who made 10 changes and it could have been 7 or 8 goals.

Regardless of the competition it was an embarrassing showing on the pitch.

You fail to mention that we could and should have been 3 goals up. Plus we could also have had a couple more. But hey ho lets continue to focus on the negatives and keep everyone as miserable as you

I wonder if we have a recall clause for Planty?

If so I would bring him back now in light of Mitch's injury.

I think players can be recalled from non league clubs at any time. We could bring back Plant and Lomax

actually thought Walters did alright tonight considering how long he has been out

I arent a Walters fan but i have to agree with that

I saw someone somewhere put how Harper was a class above when he came on,now i have to be honest here i must be missing something because i am yet to be impressed with at all,he really frustrates me. I am however wanting both of them to prove me wrong and win me over

Could, would or should, we lost 4-1 .

Exactly.

Speedy centre halves in league 2 are incredibly rare.

Heneghan is OK. Steady. Certainly no donkey.

Agree totally,he was brought in to get us out of League 2,I doubt very much if we go up that he will stay here

Gutted for Mitch Clark, playing really well before he went down. Hope the injury is not as bad as it appeared.

Losing the game was bad enough but a potentially long term injury for Mitch is much, much worse.

I was replying to a poster who said we could, would or should of lost by 7 or 8 same difference 🤔

No idea. Unless they have no faith in the appeals process or they've seen some other angle that nobody else has who knows.

They shafted us before so no doubt that they think they would again

Seems a common theme.

Just out of interest how many players have refused to play for Moore???

Can I add though ANY player no matter who they are can just <ovf censored> off now if they refuse to play for Moore, not that I think it's true, they play for our club PORT  VALE and not Darren Moore.

I think that's true with Lomax, as he's been on loan since November. I'm fairly sure the non league loans are like the old fashioned EFL loans; where players can be recalled any time after the first month. I think the earliest Plant can be recalled is early March.

I've just had a look the minimum is 28 days.

How many players has Darren Moore not pi553@ off in the 12 months he’s been here?

If we are talking facts how many can you name....... probably Ripley who kicked off at being dropped and so he got <ovf censored> off and rightly so,i dont want anyone here who doesn't want to play for US.

Who else do you know about??

No, if I had meant that I would have said that.

Have a read below about the Wrexham team to make the comparison.

Then have a look at the Vale's genuine second-string line-up.

I'm amazed at the number of top-dollar first-team players Wrexham risked on this competition, when they are also challenging at the top end of league 1.

I can only assume that if Wrexham get to Wembley then it’s big business for them to sell a final appearance to the US TV audience.

Who cares. It’s his job to get us promoted and so far we’re in the pack to go up.

The only positive I can draw from Mitch's injury is that if it was an ACL, he ain't walking off the pitch. Sometimes a twisted knee can be very painful and swollen immediately and then settle down. It could be 2 or 3 weeks out rather than the rest of the season.

Sadly being able to walk isn’t an indication that he hasn’t done his ACL.

Why risk one of your best players in this match.

Why risk one of our other wing backs who isn’t suspended for the next few games though? Then we’d really be shafted if they got injured. Its common sense to play Mitch in this game as he wouldn’t have been  featuring in the league.

I don’t know anything, that’s why I asked you. Is it a fact that Ripley kicked off? Is it a fact that Ojo did? Or Chislett? or Paton? Or anyone else who hasnt even been mentioned. I don’t know, guess you don’t but does seem a theme, some maybe true, all maybe true or none maybe true. What is certain, we are not playing certain players when they are far better options to others who get picked.

Fair enough then.
