Gary Roberts has been a major disappointment for me this season. I said before the season kicked off, and having seen him in a lot of friendlies, that if he stayed sober we'd win the League. He is a player of immense ability but no brains. I feel desperately sad that the lad will probably reach the end of his career with far more regrets than medals.

There was a few people who i spoke to yesterday and last night saying that he was out drinking till 0200 Friday night/Saturday morning.

He has the legs of a 40 year old and I doubt he has the brains to sort himself out. Time for him to move on (downwards again), shame but he only has himself to blame..

Correct but for te wrong reasons, he would probably be in the championship if he was here.

 

Adams has had the chance to take him there though.

Perhaps, its the coaching, no coach with any experience and Gary is thinking he has to come up with his own ideas to carry the team thru a game. There is no proper leader in this team and it shows on the pitch.

I think the events of the last 4/5 months have taken their toll on many if not all the squad, this is reflected in their performances, it seems Roberts is an isolated case, he's not, we focus around him because we know he is the one player to possess skills that can either win or dictate a game.

Gannon wasnt, Grew isnt, the board sure as hell arent and i suspect the players get up to what they want, when they want.

Probably so, but I'm interested to know how all of a sudden, Vale supporters seem to know he has being getting smashed ??

If you compare the Gary Roberts under MA, you will notice that he covered a lot of the grass during games, often popping up on the wing. Since Gannon, Horse and Grew, he along with all the other players, have lost a lot of the fitness that made them appear to be better players.

They are too ****ed to run for lengthly spells. Fitness and stamina is shot to pieces.

Which people have you spoken to and who is their source ? Considering you don't attend, melv, then forgive me for questioning the validity of your claim.

Adams has had the chance to take him there though.

I very much doubt MA would of doubly ****ed up our season by taking any players off us. Next season could be a different matter, depending where he ends up.

To be honest it's not Gaz's drinking that worries me.
