You can blame Ripley for one individual error but ultimately, the line up, the style of play and the overall negativity at home is down to one man and one man alone.

And it isn't Ripley!!!

Ripley is <ovf censored>. Next.

MOORE!

Paid the price for a too conservative starting line up for the 1st half, surely Richards for one of either Cover or Sang and Tolaj or Paton for Hackford.

Sucker punch at the end for their goal, Ripley has to do better with that shot, either get more on the clearance or hold onto the ball.

Their goal was coming, Vale never got to grips with their 2nd half changes, 2 Points dropped by Vale.

Where are these arseholes when we win 🙄

We're just not very convincing. Again, we go into the final 10 of a home game against a poor side sitting back, effectively rolling the dice that they won't score. We got over the line Saturday. We didn't today. There wasn't any control, and with Byers probably out for a while we've got no one to control the midfield. Garrity and Croasdale are runners.

There's no point whingeing about Colchester's tactics. They came for a draw playing horrendous stuff. This is a culmination of years of worshipping 'housery', timewasting, winding up fans, abusing refs. It's the natural endpoint.  Other teams will play like that. I couldn't stand it if it were my team, but I also know I found Lucas' antics quite funny - so I can't really kick off.

The lineup was wrong, again. It's the second time in three games that we've made a double switch at half-time and I'm beginning to think that this isn't masterful in-game management but more ballsing the starting lineup and belatedly sorting it.

I gave Moore credit on Saturday and will criticise tonight. I'm not sure he's adding a great deal at the minute. We're the better side in most games we play because we have better players on a lot more money, and a bench that starts for most other teams. We aren't really controlling games. Most of our goals are set-pieces. There's green shoots of promise, but we're still waiting for it to come together. Maybe it will.

Takeaways from tonight:

1. Ripley needs dropping;

2. Moore’s tactics and tactical management of games are abysmal

1. Amos hasn't exactly covered himself in glory the times we've seen him. Might be a good change though to raise standards. Ripley has started becoming a bit flat footed so agree.

2. Weirdly I thought after their 10 or so minute spell of looking a bit more threatening we had turned the corner and had started to manage the game a bit. What changes would you have made? I thought Tolaj on for Chislett made sense at that time in the game for a bit more physicality up top. Also could argue that our half time subs made us look better. Best I've seen Richards play and tbh he made the difference as they were doubling up on him and he was getting round them.

Im absolutely fuming with what’s happened there

Ripley has got be dropped after that

Very poor first half mainly down to them fair play to the manager for changing it and getting the goal but then just stood there and hoped we didn’t concede they were the better side once they decided play

We need be better at home

2 points dropped pressure on Saturday now

Poor game . We should have buried them , but didn’t react to their subs. Ripley should have punched that towards the corner flag, instead of parrying it straight to that excuse for a human being . Notts Co will be licking their lips. I hate the Cowley Bros , and their anti football. Moore is on now, sounding like Frank Bruno  after getting the <ovf censored> beat out of him by some unknown , for some reason.
Hope Byers is ok.

I’m not one for clutching pearls but is that a deliberate gunshot celebration metres from the Vale fans, pointed at them? Probably not something to encourage.

Garrity has been awful all season

Subs made us look better as they should have started the game. No need for that back 5 and all of our creative players (other than Chislett) being sat on the bench. I don’t think the Tolaj sub was required though at that time

Saw Byers injury a mile off, I’m sorry to say. I said we should be starting Croasdale against scrappy teams that leave their feet in and come for a point. I was right. That’ll be him until Christmas.

Cam anyone actually remember when Ripley actually made a decent save that won us points?

One shot to save I haven't seen the goal bit loks like a big error.

What a horrible team play against

The linesman must have had a draw on his coupon they spoilt he game all night Colchester ,stopping us getting any momentum going and we score a fantastic second goal and the moron linesman puts his flag up

Two counts I'm a bit titsed tonight one we start second half well Stockley, and Richards ,firing over Debrah heads it in then we sit back against a very poor football team who in the end get a point of one shot on target

Laughable really although as game wore on we seemed to give them as much hope as possible which really irritated me.

We have to start 4231 against County. Playing Sang and Hackford would be asking for big trouble against a team that can actually attack. I’m not bitter about a last-minute draw, the fact of the matter is Swindon and Colchester are destined to finish 3-4 places above the drop at best. Setting up the same way against a decent side could have Barrow written all over it.
