We will be playing three at the back lads. Moore played a variant of 3 CBs (either 3421, 3412, or 352) 40 times in League 1 when they got 98 points, using 2 CBs only 6 times. The fact he has gone into this season doing the same, despite the number of attackers we've got to keep happy, is telling.

I don't think the lack of chance creation is anything to do with the formation. I think Byers is going to have to start in order for us to move the ball through the middle a bit better. We need to get Garrity running beyond Paton. I think there's some potential in playing Chislett deeper but unsure if we'll risk it.

What I think Moore will do:

Debrah Heneghan Smith (assuming Hall and Hart out)

Sang Byers Croasdale John

Garrity Curtis

Paton

Byers looks a million miles away from match fitness , I'd rather stick Ojo in

And that's me saying that as well 🙈😂

Playing a better team with fewer fit defenders. What could go wrong?

Attack is the best form of defence squire👌

Exactly so no point playing Garrity if not in the correct position (i'd rather he played than not) but if a holding midfielder it has to be Croasdale or Ojo in those positions, maybe Grant as back up.

I think it's probably more likely Grant will be in at LWB on sat 🙈

If we have to go 3 at the back I'd go;

Deborah/Smith  Heneghan John

    Sang Croasdale Byers Curtis

                Garrity

          Paton Stockley

Subs Williams BBB Smith/Deborah  Chislett Tolaj Plant Amos.

Assuming Hall & Hart are injured.

Williams?

How does he get match fit if he doesn’t play in matches.

Plays in the micky mouse cup games first

I'm expecting Hall to be playing on Saturday. He was 50/50 for last week, so must surely be good a week later?

I’d like to see something like…

Ripley

Smith Heneghan Hall John

Edwards Garrity Croasdale Curtis

Paton Stockley

That’s about as useful as a friendly, he’s clearly good enough he needs chucking in in the league to get up to speed the cup games are glorified walking football it’s terrible all we actually gain from it is a bit of prize money and the odd unwanted injury.

Smith never is and never will be a right back Gibson and Molyneux will have a field day against him if that’s the case. 5 at the back is not the issue, it’s how we execute it and the midfields and wing backs need to be actual ball carriers. Instead they are lumping it up to Paton or out of play, if we carry the ball we’ve got more support for the likes of Paton and can actually create a meaningful attack.

whoever plays on saturday i think we all agree the players need to front up and actually play for the shirt now . a response is needed as doncaster wont be here to simply make up the numbers. i want to see some FIGHT

Sorry if I've missed this, but has there been anything about the severity of the Hart injury ?

I'll be controversial here. I'd prefer Grant to John as a replacement purely because he's left footed. Surely he is up to League 2 standard, or is he crocked as well 🤔

Add Chislett  instead of Croasdale and that's a great line up.

This side should be given six games to gel even if the Donny game ends in defeat. Then the fringe players become more manageable
