Our record sale is £2m - I would guess it's around £1.2m-£1.5m with various add-ons and sell on clauses.

I would go along with that maybe a little more tbh but those thinking less than 500k really 🙂

I find it strange that a number of people were complaining about dull football but they also seem to be complaining that we are signing too many attacking players. Slapfacesmiley

Didn’t Dipepa a 3 year contract fairly recently? So I very much doubt we gave him away.

I thought that was a great bit of business. Otherwise he would’ve soon (or possibly already?) been an out of contact youth with a nominal fee paid by whoever signs him

Pretty simple really.

We can sign all the attacking players in the world, but if the manager insists on playing 5 at the back with 1 up front then it's completely pointless.

DM says " the offer was fantastic for the club ".  Read in to that whatever you want to.

What's the obsession with how much he's gone for? The deal must have been a good one for all parties

As someone else pointed out Dipepa was on a 3yr contract and had a lot of clubs watching him or chasing him,Southampton would need to pay big money to get him(my opinion)

That's why i think he will have to change systems and hopefully that's what he is looking at doing,it's all very much on him now

Changing tack sorry.

Particularly as we had Tranny 2 weeks ago.

I know he's as mad as a box of frogs but I do hope Warren is OK. Not seen a post from him in ages.

Darren, I’d have taken a left footed Tranny.

Some very weird comments on the FB page re Dipepa.

IF we got 7 figures and IF there is a sell-on clause then how can anyone not see this as a win-win all round????

It’s not as if he was holding the team together with goals and swash-buckling performances that had fans constantly out of their seats.

There was the odd glimpse of future potential and really a peripheral figure. We are not talking 18 y/o Wayne Rooney here.

If we’re being honest, he probably doesn’t fit our system this year which is a pretty pivotal in terms of going back up.

I’d like nothing better than seeing him lifting the Word Cup in 2 years in an England shirt and wish him well at Saints.

But again, subject to the two conditions above and who we’ve bought in already, good business from the club I think.

Yes, but remember that you need to have those attacking players actually on the pitch!

Well done Baylee.

Great work by the academy/youth,bringing him through.

Look forward to seeing him doing well

RZ, I guess that’s because we signed what we thought were going to be exciting players in the closed season. Then we start the season playing virtually the same system as last season, with one up front. I think fans are just confused as to why we haven’t strengthened at the back.

Well done Baylee Dipepa hope you have a very successful career at Southampton fc,well done vale academy it just goes to show hard work can reap it's rewards, UTV VTID

Great bit of business if we got 7 figures for him. And a good destination for him. Win win.
