I would like to thank BD himself for signing the contract. Im sure with how football works he’d have known he would be moving sometime in the future. So thank you for bringing much needed money into the club.

I meant, how much credence do you put on that statement.  Also, if the club has over stretched and is desperate for a cash injection,  would £300k be a fantastic offer?  Not suggesting that's correct for a minute btw.

I, like everyone else, will never have a scooby what the final price Southampton paid for BD.  However, in conversation with my m8 from Vale earlier today, I'm told we were asking £3m for him. 

What they agreed as the final bit will be somewhere less than that. 

I'm also told that there defo sell on clauses on there too. 

Good business. BD has now gone, as has Ojo. Time to focus on us as a team.

None, but I would class big money as £5m plus and would be surprised if someone like Southampton will have paid that. Man United were quoted as after him, there is a high chance they’d have paid a lot more money had they wanted him.

Southampton are the ideal club for him to go to imo if he does well there they will have bigger clubs wanting to pay big money and there will no doubt be a sell on fee included,so win win and i also think he will of gone for big money and add ons but i guess we wont find that out

You’ve answered your own question with the last statement.

i agree though, perfect club for him, they develop players early well, can’t see him playing in the Premiership but he maybe championship ready next season, ready for when they are likely to be playing at that level. 

There was probably a trigger point for bids on his contract? I hope Soton don’t just bung him in the U23. 
 

We've got 4 fullbacks (Sang, John, Hart, Cover) - 5 if you include Jones. For now, we've also got Plant and Shorrock as wingbacks. As well as other big wage on the books in Clark. Not sure how many people want.
We perhaps have too many attacking midfielders but if you categorise Curtis, Benicio, and Edwards as wingers and Garrity, Chislett, and Richards as attacking central players, it doesn't feel too daft.
Sitting midfielders will always be Byers and Croasdale when fit, with Cover, Garrity, and Lowe as back up.
You always need 4 strikers, so Hackford had to be signed once we knew Dipepa was going.
I'm just not getting the complaints. It's a larger squad than we're used to - thank God, considering how we usually drop off post-Christmas and have an attacking player injury crisis every January.

I doubt he would know what the fee between the clubs would be.

Wonder what Rhys Walters is thinking now. This is the type of move I’m sure he thought he’d getting instead he’s going unpaid at the moment and doesn’t seem there’s a massive queue to sign him. Leon really sold him short.

Tbf he's not been starting for us in League 2, so I doubt Saints will be throwing him into the first team. 

I think I'm one of the few that never fully went with the hype. He's  potentially a good player, but he's not positively changed any game when he's come on this season. I'm really glad we cashed in now. I think he'll go to their U23s, maybe get the odd sub/cup appearance and then end up in a similar league to us. (Which is nowt to be sniffed at, I wish I'd have had that career). Hopefully he proves me wrong though! 

I hope some have learnt a lesson from last night.
