I see it more as we’re now protected if we don’t go up and can get funds for him rather than him leave on a free. I doubt he will be a vale player if we’re league 2 next season

I doubt we will be in L2 next season.

He could also be confident of promotion this season but as you say he wont want to stay in League 2 that's for sure. Our hope is for promotion and him to stay as Captain and then we strengthen well and he signs another extended deal,he is pivotal for us imo

I actually think tomorrow could be an interesting one, well I am more interested than usual to see how it pans  out because over the last few windows we all know we have waited eagerly for all the stars to come in that DF promised(as the best deals are done on the last day dont you know) only for it to end with a damp squib but this feels different to me.

The Crewe manager says agents are now ringing him as players are desperate now where before they wouldn't even talk to him( I guess that will be free agents),I am hoping we dont go down that route where they need a month to get up to speed,if we bring anyone else in then I hope they are fit and ready to go(after playing games at a certain level)

Great news regarding Garrity needs play as a attacking midfielder /striker or not at all though .

Be surprised if 4 players do not move on tomoz .

I think the lad who plays at the back and has been with us will sign tomoz .

The lad from Huddersfield other than that I think Ripley will go after last week's no show get a feeling he doesn't stay at clubs long and moves on quite soon .

Jensen Weir signing for Wigan in a 2 year deal is a strange one… almost as strange as their fans being excited by it!

Well made up. Just managed to get a ticket for Newport 😎

Another one that I can’t believe has ended up in league 1. Wouldn’t have had him with us this season!

Whilst I admire your optimism, and sincerely hope we gain promotion at the first time of asking, I honestly think it’s unlikely. The stats will back this up.  Relegated teams tend to be in a state of flux, as we are, and generally lack the consistency to hit the automatic spots at the first time of asking.  There are plenty of teams down here with far more settled squads, not to mention cash to strengthen.

Multiple new players have lead to raised expectations.  We’ve got to blend these players into a decent team but this combined a tricky fixture list could mean we’re playing catch up. Combine with a hangover from last season and question marks over the manager and it’s not a great combination.

From our end all we can do is be patient and back the team and manager to the max.  Unfortunately, as we know, some fans haven’t got much patience.

They’ve probably looked past his career with us and taken the positives from his other clubs. We were dreadful last season as a collective so it’s probably being dressed up as just a blip for players like him.

Listening to DM today sounds like it’s going to be quiet one to me.I’m struggling to see where we need cover or a new 1st team player to be honest even if it’s not quite clicking at present. DM appears very confident in the squad once he gets Byers,Stockley,Smudge,Hall,Hart,BBB, Tolaj and Edward’s up to speed.

I’ve been expecting Ojo to leave all summer at the end of this window so I’m looking out for that move tomorrow, if not I will be a bit miffed why he’s not playing.

Jones something could possibly happen there as well but I guess NL would be an option after the window closes.

He was poor at Blackpool before us as well, only impressed at Morecambe. If they watched any of his performances with us I’m really struggling to see what they have seen

I would like to see another LB come in, as we’re not very well stocked and it seems most of the full backs we have are injured. Not expecting anything else though

Like I said before with Weir I don't think he was anywhere near as bad as some make out.  We were basically spoilt with Arblaster and Devine both of whom are/will be at least championship quality in their careers.  Weir came into a side already on a downer and whilst he didn't do a great deal to change that or anything special he had a hard act to follow.

Had we not had the 2 lads before him most would be saying he was average, he did a job but we move on.  Certainly he wasn't and I imagine probably never will be in the same class as Arblaster or Devine but he'll go on to have a decent lower league career I'd wager all things being equal. Put him in a better more confident League One side and he could be asset.

Look at Marcus Harness at Vale a few years ago, average at best during his season long loan spell yet gone on to be a good player with Burton, Pompey and Ipswich
