I'm not getting why people are saying that he should be loaned back for the season?

If we sold him for a million plus that would help us to reinvest in 1 or even 2 strikers that have the goals in them to fire us out of this league instead of relying on a 17 year old

Depends when he is sold really. Scoring in under 17 matches doesn't have the same weigh of scoring goals in League one.

He has come on leaps and considering he is one of the few in that squad not at one of the big boys its credit to Vale and certainly our youth system which is one positive at the moment.

Played well last night and worked hard, have to admit I wasn't keen Xmas time, felt he was miles off being capable of first team but has had an incredible 2-3 months since he scored v Shrewsbury.

I would like to see how he does in League Two with us, but if he does go I hope we are ruthless enough to demand a good financial package for us like your Crewe's or Exeter would.

Ideally a decent initial fee with a 15% sell on and a loan back!

Is that the first instalment of many then?  His price should be higher than that due to his England performances and time in the first team.

We don't need to give our better players away cheaply.

Well there was the post somebody put saying we should sell him because he didn't do that much with a big lump next to him and I thought, you're right, the Vale way seems to be keeping the crap players.

Strikers are only going to be as good as the service around them. There's a lot in the side we need to look at and improve either with personnel or how we play. Buying just a striker obviously won't get us out of L2. 

So on that basis loaning him back is probably a good shout if it means we can spend on other positions elsewhere. Some better wide players would be nice, and an Ojo replacement.

People mentioning Billy Bodin need to remember he said he hated Port Vale because of the way Smurf treated his dad. I think he said it when he scored for Bristol rovers against us.

Seen a couple of york fans saying we're signing their striker Dipo Akinyemi. 15 goals and 10 assists in a struggling team last year. That's certainly the type of player we should be having a gamble on.

Do you think a club like Man Utd will look at Vale and think they can afford to refuse £300,000 in the scheme of things.

I would be shocked if Vale received anything over one million. But to talk about figures like two or three million is deluded.

Definitely, excellent record all be it at low levels but I agree, it’s who we should be gambling on
