League 2 preparation

I think we desperately need some action, incentive or whatever to re-connect the club & fans, like the Target 5,000 or Bradford’s £100 season tickets, just something to get the crowds in and engaged. 

As I said in an earlier post, I’m sceptical that we’ll do anything next year. I think our form has been so bad since promotion that the losing mentality & generally fragility will take some changing.

As I sit here, why should I buy a season ticket next year??

A bigger gamble was doing nothing. 

A strike force of Wickham and Gayle might have been enough to keep us up. I think we're a fantastic bet to go down again, you'll probably get half-decent odds too. Our success in L2 previously has come from having physical players and leaders in the team, Griff, McCombe, Richards, Pope and even recently with the likes of Conor Hall. We won't recruit those kind of players though, it'll be "nice lads" to fit this rubbish passing it sideways style of play. Sign a big b*stard up-front, some quick wingers, and get it in the box to him. Bring back Dinosaur football!

Just hope we bin the ‘nice’ football and go big and more direct. 
get a couple of strikers who know where the net is and are willing to actually get involved and shoot. 
No nonsense defending and some passion 

probably unlikely though with our Modern club !

There’s a few good days out in the league below.  Notts, Harrogate, the London clubs, Saddlers via Brum, to name a few.  If Chesterfield get promoted that’s another one.

I was thinking as backup when there are injuries only. I do think Walters is ready for League 2 as he is more physical than the others.

They’re 20 points clear with 9 games to play. I’m pretty confident they’ll be a league 2 next season. And a very good one at that. Tough league next season. As others have said I feel we will do well to stay around mid table.

I agree, unless serious work is done on the squad between now and August.
