Fair enough but  “It wasn't organised by the club nor were the participants selected by the club” lends itself to misinterpretation.

Probably my fault for leaving a crucial word out...

Nor were the FAN participants selected by the club

Apologies if that caused confusion.

This was in response to a claim Carol instigated the meeting. I was told the fans requested it.

How is the misrepresentation? The supporters club requests a meeting with the owner. Both parties bring their own participants.

Bloody hell, it’s like being in Kindergarten.

“It wasn't organised by the club nor were the participants selected by the club

Patrick Shanahan was a participant.

Nor were the participants selected by the club.

Deduction - the club didn’t select Patrick Shanahan.

It’s been pointed out Patrick Shanahan was selected by the club.

That is how I misinterpreted it.

Got it?

Thank you for clarifying Rob and good luck trying to explain to Fosse69.

For the first time in months I’ve spent 4 days not once thinking about Port Vale. It’s been lovely.

I genuinely think we could all do with a break. It’s all very intense and fractious. I dread to think what the mood is like in the Shanahan household

The summer cannot come quickly enough - whatever the division.

Ok, for complete clarity. Here is how my day went...

I had to go to physio and while there my phone rang. It was a participant from the meeting. He told me there was a post on the forum where a poster had said Carol called the meeting and that was wrong, the fans did. He said the fans also selected which supporters attended the meeting as again it had been suggested Carol had handpicked some fans to attend.

He asked me to post that clarification as he was busy and unable to get on the forum. I posted it while waiting for my treatment.

I got home and I've been cooking tea which is why I haven't seen the multiple responses caused by me missing a word out until now.

And that's it.

I wasn't there. I don't know what was discussed. I don't know who exactly who was there apart from the Vale fan who called me and the list of names on the statement.

All I know is personally I think it's always a good idea when the club agrees from a request from supporters to meet and air their grievances. Why? Because it shows the club is willing to listen.

Yeah me too. So much for 'drama free Vale' it's relentless

I commend the Shanahan's for having such a meeting as it can improve and maintain the contact and relationship with the club's customer/fan base as long as the fans understand their place in this.  However, the downside is that if the "baying mob" don't get their way things can slide downhill even quicker and it can undermine the position of the leader of the organization.
For all the titles Carole is the leader of PVFC, she appoints leaders of various departments to help her get the job done and achieve objectives at PVFC. Every business has one leader who listens to their reports and makes decisions on which they swim or sink. A business cannot be run by committee or a group of fans as ask 10 people a question and usually 10 different answers will be received.
Carol will know what's caused the Vale to be in the relegation zone of Lge 1, she doesn't need consultants to tell her it's poor recruitment. She will also know the Lge position and remaining in Lge 1 are the two objectives that carry the most weight by far for the club, not training pitches or the Bycars bogs and internally she will be thinking to herself and talking to others to find out why, what are the reasons the recruitment has been so poor this last 4 windows and working/making plans to rectify it somehow.
Out of this whole sorry mess it will be a disaster for PVFC if the Shanahan's decided to sell up now, the finger points at Flitcroft for the poor recruitment but Carol may decide it's the size of the budget, the wage cap etc that's the problem or something related. Lessons have to be learned from this to ensure it doesn't happen again.
I appeal to fans to be patient with Carol as she has a track record of making the right decisions at the appropriate time. I just wish I had 5 million quid to gift the club.

Nice one Paul. Nice and level headed

Nothing. He is meant to be chief strategist or something. The reality is, he is just a talentless wanka who only has employment due to his mum. He has done nothing for the club since getting a long overdue haircut at the playoff final.

Steady on. Who do you think is going to be the head of the club when Carol steps away? Kevin & Carol don’t get younger.

I can understand your frustrations but it’s a family owned club.

Patrick is like the club mole he comes on here and posts stuff now and again and reports back to his mum and Fraudcroft

What’s wrong with that?

A temperature check of fans feelings to report back into the club.

Seriously what’s wrong with that?

You can’t then complain they don’t listen to fans.

So this "meeting" took place on Monday?  Why has no one, even members of the Supporters Club and the Black & Gold unit been contacted, either previous to or after said meeting?  The actual fan base were NOT represented then, only a handful of PVFC selected elite asked to attend.   Stinks again of trying to sweep things under the carpet by attempting to hoodwink a few people at the meeting, in the hope they could persuade the actual fan base to do as the Club say!!!! Fat chance of that.

Probably not invited because you are all miserable negative doom mongering bast&&&s ???

at least in league 2 we can win a few games

enjoy the day out and stop moaning

better than sitting at home with the missus
