I never suggested that relegation isn't the more likely outcome.  But if you read the statement closely, there does appear to be an acceptance that DM + team will be more involved in player recruitment issues. If I'm correct in this, it does suggest pragmatism and not pigheadedness.

For me the manager should have the final say , he coaches and trains the players , A Dof should only be needed for scouting and contract negotiations 👍

Instead of hiding behind corporate spiel, why don' t the club out with a quote that simple folk like me can understand:

"Darren Moore will be in charge of his own recruitment of player's for the 2024/25 season"

There's more spinning going on at the club than on a roulette wheel at a casino 🙄

And what on earth does Patrick Shanahan offer to the club?

What are his experience, credentials or qualifications? What is his role?

Patrick is like the club mole he comes on here and posts stuff now and again and reports back to his mum and Fraudcroft

This kind of management bluffing statement might work in a corporation where there is little chance to voice your dissent, but it’s a totally different matter when there’s a crowd of 5000+ home fans on a Saturday afternoon at vale park who are voicing their unhappiness verbally and then with their feet when they don’t come back the next week.

So true. We are a currently a corporate business rather than a football club.

I would have thought that talking to people face to face is preferable to shouting at the internet.

When I shout at the internet all I get is severe buffering  😆

Entirely agree. I think it's good the club and fans groups are meeting and talking frankly. For what it's worth, my opinion piece on it is here - https://www.onevalefan.co.uk/2024/03/opinion-its-good-to-talk-so-port-vale-owners-listening-to-fans-can-only-be-a-good-thing/

Nothing. He is meant to be chief strategist or something. The reality is, he is just a talentless wanka who only has employment due to his mum. He has done nothing for the club since getting a long overdue haircut at the playoff final.

I guess the fans representatives requested a meeting with the club management but who the club fronted up for that meeting was probably out of their control. I would hope whether our DoF was absent or present would not have altered the tone of the conversation. If approx  90% of your paying customers think a particular individual is responsible for your current demise and do not want him at the club anymore  then it's  foolish  for a business person to ignore such strong sentiment. Especially a smart business person.

So this "meeting" took place on Monday?  Why has no one, even members of the Supporters Club and the Black & Gold unit been contacted, either previous to or after said meeting?  The actual fan base were NOT represented then, only a handful of PVFC selected elite asked to attend.   Stinks again of trying to sweep things under the carpet by attempting to hoodwink a few people at the meeting, in the hope they could persuade the actual fan base to do as the Club say!!!! Fat chance of that.

I am unsure why you think no one was contacted. Are you part of the Supporters Club committee or Black and Gold? If the meeting was called by the two groups and not the club, surely the people in the committee and B&G group knew about it? You can't expect them to consult every fan and everyone who has put on a black and gold scarf.

Weirdly negative way to dismiss designing a kit that broke club sales records and then to also criticise him for celebrating a promotion.

Wish I could fail to keep up with the competition if it meant me getting £180 million my way.

Wrex It was a mess, purchased by loyal fans as we were riding the crest of a wave. At that time we’d all bought into the dream that we were being sold by the owners. I just want them to go, how can she still defend him. Her, him,AC and DM will be held accountable for our relegation, however the buck stops with the one at the top. TBH I have more faith in Donald Trump and I despise him with a passion. The party is over for the owners, the band has stopped playing, it’s time to go. No marathons are won after the first seven miles, they haven’t got the stamina.

So the supporters group insisted that Patrick Shanahan was present but declined to invite the man responsible for everything that touches the football and is the target for 95% of fan’s derision??? Sorry Rob but I’m not buying that.

If you read my reply - I merely said that they called the meeting. They didn't pick the club attendees.

Fair enough but  “It wasn't organised by the club nor were the participants selected by the club” lends itself to misinterpretation.
How is the misrepresentation? The supporters club requests a meeting with the owner. Both parties bring their own participants.
