Awful list. But look, if you delve into the backgrounds of these players, most were never going to set the league alight. They all have many things in common. A recent bad injury, a lack of experience or were proven as pretty poor with the experience they had.

At the end of the day, they reflect the budget we have, a budget that Carol is ultimately responsible for providing.

You have to have a 'live, love, laugh' emblem on your living room wall with a wooden 'gin o'clock' thing in your kitchen window.

Maybe Robbie can get Harry Styles to buy in as well. A big colourful butterfly, pink boas and a "just be kind" motto, perfectly fits with the clubs mantra.

It’s too simplistic to run through the signings like that in my view.

You have to take into account the status at the club i.e 1st team , backup squad player/development.

Clearly It’s the senior pros signed which is the major issue.

Massey, Grant, Lowe, Loft, Uche, Wilson, Taylor they are all poor signings to date, not to mention a 3 year deal for a senior 32/33 year old vice captain who downs tools when the going got tough last year and had repeated the trick this season.

Massey,Grant,Loft  2 year deals!!

Sackable offense on its own.

From all the children who play in academies at the age of nine, fewer than 1% will make it professional at any level of the game. Only 180 from 1.5 million youth footballers in the UK are likely to make it all the way to the Premier League, or 0.012%.

The odds aren’t much better for making it as a pro at any level. What that means is despite what we think, these players are the elite (statistically). So why do they seem so devoid of confidence and ability given the odds they beat to even get on the pitch?

I can’t believe they are ‘rubbish’ despite how it looks, but I do think twe need to make sure players fit our system of play, have the right character traits, are hard working are willing to learn, and a have desire to improve. At our level they can’t retire at 35 as millionaires and it’s a precarious living as a lower league player that I honestly don’t envy. So they should be sweating blood in every training session, and leaving everything on the pitch after 90 minutes. If they need the fans to get them up for it, then they don’t have what it takes. Do you think Roy Keane needed the fans to cheer him on to put effort in. Not a chance.

These players thought must be good enough but talent alone isn’t enough. Attitude and will to win is the most important thing at this level. And we need leaders, players who the others will follow into battle. Do we have any? Look at the best teams, no matter what their level, and they are full of leaders. We need more characters and fewer EPL academy players (Devine and Arblaster apart) because statistically most of them won’t even make it in the game. Not even at our level. So, let’s look to the non-league scene. Find the rough diamonds like Andy Jones and Ian Taylor. They are there if we look hard enough, take a chance and put the work in with them.

Agreed didn't the guy Langstaff

Come from non league

What a goalscorer that lad is

If we have a decent scouting network

And a competent DOF it shouldn't be a problem 🤔

But oh wait Fraudcroft is our DOF 🙄😬

Give me attitude and application over ability any day of the week.

There is an experienced striker with over 100 EFL goals to his name that we could have signed in January who instead went to Gloucester City, he's now scored six goals in eight games in the National League North so he still knows where the back of the net is. A player by the name of Theo Robinson 😬
