I'll be honest, I never felt comfortable, ever, when he was being ran at. The crosses successfully blocked stats while at Vale must be pretty bleak. Sang is no better.

Great pressure pen against Swindon though. All that matters.

Sir Mal.  I always rated him and not surprised he’s doing well.  Not many players are perfect at this level, consistency being the main failing.  I’d certainly have him In the current team.  Whatever people’s views, he’ll always be remembered for the Wembley performance against his former club.

All credit to him. When he arrived he was sluggish and overweight, didn't even look like he could cut it at L2 level.

He got himself into the gym and came back fit as a fiddle. Played a huge part in our promotion, including a fabulous performance at Wembley topped off by busting a gut to finish off his former club. For him now to be performing to such a high standard in L1 is superb for him and proof that hard work pays off. We certainly didn't upgrade when he left.

Shrewsbury are 4 points above PV, played 3 games more and have a 5 goals worse goal difference. We are competing with them to stay up. As a personality I liked him, he also showed excellent commitment, but he's a L1/L2 player. We had problems on his side of the pitch second half of last season. So much so teams targeted it. The left centre back didn't help of course.

Sorry not to have misty eyes and tears over him.  Good goal at Wembley certainly keeps him in memory.

Benning's best spell was the last 10-12 games of the promotion season, as mentioned had a superb game at Wembley and scored the penalty that set up for Swindon's player to blaze over and miss for the game in the semi.

He was ordinary before that and much of last season albeit at a higher level but pleased he's done well for Shrewsbury, he tried hard most of the time and seems a decent bloke.
