Joel Ndala

This is the lad we sold to Man City when he was about 11.  He is now 17 but played tonight in the U21s in an EFL Trophy game at Grimsby.  He scored City's second goal.  I have no idea what the deal was financially but I'm hoping he continues to make such good progress and we get a windfall of some sort.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the Fat controller pencilled all those deals in when selling the club.

The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) was around when Ndala left wasn’t it, therefore it would be similar to Michael Mills deal to Newcastle United, where you earn approx 25k every10 first team games they make upto 100 games maximum. Ndala will need to be something very special to make even 10 games for City. This is where small clubs like us get mistreated by the EPPP and the elite clubs can just gobble up any talent they like at minimal investment

As Macca above says . You have to be elite to get near City squad. Fair play to the lad but I'd imagine prospects of Vale suddenly doing an Exeter and inheriting a million quid are slim.

After all Sammy Robinson could call himself ex Man City and look how that went.

Would there have been a sell on clause too rather than just an appearance based deal?  If so there are quotes city/himself already turning down offers from big Continental clubs eg PSG.  So still potentially a windfall from a transfer?

Surely any sell on clauses etc would be payable to port vale fc, not Norman Smurthwaite.

Perhaps what happened with the Hugill windfall has muddied the waters?  Our former owner receiving that as a condition of sale to C & K rather than it being part of Hugill’s original transfer contract. Who knows but think Jacko’s original post was more aimed at celebrating Joel’s success now and in the future with any financial gain to us just being a potential pleasant consequence rather than something definite.

Nothing to celebrate here. He wouldn't need the Papa John's to develop if so much power hadn't been passed to the Prem teams in the first place. He'd have been playing in the League Cup for Port Vale last night instead, with interested clubs having to shell out millions rather than thousands. Very little point in having a youth setup for a club like us. Anyone who could genuinely elevate us to a higher level is nicked by the age of 14.
