Maybe I made too much of a thing of the first half performance. Ultimately we did pretty well in the end which is what matters the most.

Vaillant do us all a favour if you're going Blackpool. Don't go in until half time. 😂😂😂😂

Only joking mate.👍👍

If you get battered 7-0 in your previous league game, facing a side just relegated with some big names then its surely sensible to initially set up to be hard to breach first and foremost and build from there.
We then obviously got through that opening stage, once we figured them out and what they offered we were able to build on going forward which looking at the stats after half an hour we clearly did very well.
Seems good tactical play to me.
He refuses to acknowledge this as his 350 posts saying the same thing over and over have proved

tactical analysis from the Reading perspective

I know that we all have biases towards our own club, but a Reading FC fan describing a game against Port Vale as easy to write off as "David against Goliath" is one of the more egregious ones I've seen.

I think the mindset of this fan can be seen through his analysis focusing entirely on what Reading did (and didn't) do, as if they were the main character and Vale some form of background extra. In his eyes, Vale had more chances second half as the Reading players got nervous - not because they were a specific, intentional change to make us more aggressive after half-time.

I get that they've been on a poor run, but the 'you're not fit to wear the shirts' chant in the second league game of the season when losing via a fortuitous deflection strikes me as a fanbase which is a bit unwell. Could be a rough season if this is the mindset they're in already.

Not having won away in the league for 14 games, then winning at Millwall 4-0 they thought Xmas had come. But the Vale low block thwarted them, and a toothless England player long past his usefulness shattered them.
