Indeed - anything that contributes to fewer bums on seats is BAD - like an unnecessary boycott! Obviously that was what I was on about, since you mentioned falling gates and the boycott and people "voting with their feet". You can adopt this high horse attitude, but I maintain that, if we reach the Final there will be no boycott on that day...except one or two. maybe?.

I don't like not attending Vale matches and I've not attended a solitary match against an U21 side but do watch the other games against proper teams. I can categorically state I would NOT visit Wembley if we were playing an U21 in the final.

It will be very interesting to see what  happens at the final if a U21 team actually manages to get to it and no doubting it will happen at some point.

Would the u21 team take with them over 30,000 fans for the final for example

Not likely unless the first team had not been to the New Wembley. Hopefully, an U21 team will never get there or even better the competition will revert to the previous system.

Hopefully a U21 team will not get to the final but I would be more than curious to see how it would be received if did happen though.

I sort of understand what you mean, 20 years ago you stood a chance of survival if you went up, the 1st div. is like the Championship now, I think the ladder has been pulled up for clubs like the Vale to progress unless a multi billionaire comes along.

The Shanahans have done far more than I expected and are a credit, but to get promoted out of this league will need a massive injection of money and to get into the Premier league well no chance.
