Jones is one of our better players and been good this season. Even if he was dog <ovf censored> he should be receiving any death threats. What ever <ovf censored> doing this should be locked up - hate trolls / people like this.

Bad news on his injury today, he won't be back before the season ends. Was on course for player of the season for me.

Good luck Dan, hopefully they are putting a new contract in front of your nose while your sitting around doing nothing.

Blow that and increases the reliability on Benning/Donnelly unless we can get Cass back soon to move Forrester across if needed (plus a risk if any of the other three go down).

I would happily keep him next season, stepped up when many expected he wouldn't this season.

Huge miss for me. Fantastic passer of the ball,good in the air,good in the tackle too.

Not a world-beater and made a mistake or two but would definitely be on my list to offer a contract

Shame, I think he’s made the step up reasonably well especially when you think he was completely out of favour last season. We’re certainly a weaker side without him

As this season has progressed Dan has been more likely to play a delicious crossfield defence splitting pass than make a dangerous error and is arguably one of our most improved players. Based on recent results the team is weaker without his defensive headers so its hard to understand why anyone should target him for hate. I can only think they know as little about football as they do about being a decent member of society. Assuming its someone who attends Vale Park (I refuse to call such an individual a supporter) I hope they are banned from attending any further matches for life.

Dan has been Mr Consistent ths season, adjusted great to a higher level. Has some wonderful crossfield passing & we all know of his 'missile' throws. A lovely guy, decent footballer, really unfortunate 1.to not get us a pt at Shrewsbury & 2.to get the injury that as required surgery. Get Dan signed up in the summer DC (as for the 'threat' can we find out who the culprit is if true? as needs stringing up)

Feel sorry for Jones but not sure about the clamour for him to get a new contract. This is his second big injury in two seasons.

He managed 42% of minutes last year before not featuring again after his injury, and will end up on 40% for this season if he doesn't play again.

Very sad, but considering there has been a big debate regarding Wilson's fitness and a new contract, I don't think there's any discussion to make on Jones if we put sentiment to one side. You can't give out contracts to players who can't hit half the minutes.

He was underrated last year and a bit overrated this year (as he exceeded expectations) - a decent defender who seems to pick up big injuries. If it is his last game then I wish him the best.

Can't help heading at goal & landing awkward!!!! Also wasn't picked after getting sent off at Newport thus losing his place

He was injured after Newport. Hamstring injury in training kept him out until April.

No player can help getting injured, it's just that Jones has unfortunately missed a lot of football and that needs to be taken into account in contract renewals.
