Tonights attendance!!!

You hit on a good point re season tickets. We'll be hit soon with next year's ST's so I'd have thought a fair few will have one eye on that.

I have, as I'd like one next year in the posh seats. A game or two this season may have to make way if I'm to shell out that kind of money for next year.

I've chucked about thirty quid in the buckets alongside matchday admissions and have a couple of mugs reserved to pay for. It soon stacks up in a month and when you sit and look at it on paper alongside your monthly bills, sometimes you just can't justify it.

If we'd have been at home this sat I'd have missed it in favour of working all day. That will help financially towards next season's ST and, as important as vale is, my own survival comes first.

THINK I'm right in saying that only Coventry have gone longer without a promotion, recent new league clubs aside of course!?
Arsenal last won promotion in 1904, but were elected into the top division after finishing 5th, in place of Spurs, in 1919. Round about the time Vale took over Leeds City old Div 2 fixtures during the season.

For me it's not a question of the cost, or whether the game was poor, or whether people are worn down by the things that have gone on in the past.

The very survival of the club hangs in the balance and we should do everything we can to make sure we turn up and support the team and club through this very difficult time.

Yes & there's a name for those people - GLORY HUNTERS!! :(

I don't know if you can call them Glory Hunters or not but we have a fan base of around 4000 who turn up every game, (mostly season ticket holders).

We have the potential to get another 1000/2000 easily but only if the team is doing well on the pitch!!

Many floating fans will not pay £20 to watch Vale v Hereford in a lower half of the table nothing game.

Basically, lower the walk up price and get a winning side challenging for Promotion and we will see the crowds back to 5500/6000 easily.

I turned up last night and have only missed one home game all season as was on my holidays, our club need us now more than ever, I was disappointed with attendence also, after all where are all those 'We not coming back till MOLD have gone' well they have gone, and if you have not been to the games at all this season surely you have saved money over the period, I understand some live too far away, or have other midweek commitments not abling them to attend, but there has hardly been a big increase from previous games to this one. Sorry but SOME not all IMO were all talk.

To any interested party looking to buy our beloved club there really is a lot of true fans who attend, just ashame its not more. But the saying is true, 'you can take a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink it;

Probably something to do with the fact that having to pay over £20 to watch fourth division football is disgusting, the fact we have played 4 home games in 3 weeks and people simply cannot afford to attend every game, what with us being in the biggest recession since the 1930s and with it being near the end of the month.

Just a thought.

Would you really feel like giving 100% if you were in there situation, no pay last month, trouble indoors, fickle fans.

I wouldn't.

I believe last nights game and the Daggers game are on The Sun special offer vouchers at £9-50 per game? If so, no excuse for you out there saying you cant afford 20 quid, how much do you want to pay??

Buying The Sun is too high a price to pay for a start.

No, I wasn't there, a combination of bills, the end of the month, the cost and personal circumstances meant I wasn't, and this is from one of the 994 who watched us v Hereford in the Freight Rover Trophy game in 1986. Then again it only cost £2.50 to get in, in those days.

Most of the starve em outer’s were those that have never bothered attending regardless. There is always an excuse as to why they can’t attend, and starve em out was the perfect excuse to ‘justify’ why they refuse to pay money to watch Vale.

If it’s not the board, it’s the Manager, it’s the price, it’s the standard of football, the hot dog’s, any excuse to not go.

It isn’t a problem, but it is when they are regular posters on this messageboard and have been trying to persuade other’s not to go all season. Our attendances were better when starve em out was in full force. What does that tell you about the ‘die harder’s’ who it pained them to stay away from Vale Park for the good of the club?

except the most number of home supporters attended when the SeO campaign was officially halted, just an observation

People arnt going to pay £20.50 for the remaining home games when we have nothing to play for. If we hadnt of gone in admin and had the 10 point deducation we would still be in the play off chase so the crowds would be better.

The crowd last night was poor but when we were in league one and playing night matches we were getting between 3000 - 3500 fot night matches and about 4000 saturday afternoons so our crowds have improved despite dropping down a league.

I turned up again last night and i spoke to Bede and we agreed the sooner this season is over the better and hopefully NEW owners and NEW investment will get people more motivated to attend next season........Plus the game was **** and people should NOT be paying 20 quid plus to watch that dross.

Let's hope we're lucky enough to have a next season and even then hope we avoid a further points deduction as clearly Vale fans won't be interested in a league 2 relegation battle
