Why can't we make a string of say 7-8 passes?

Not just this game but all season.

It's like the football is a bomb on a timer and everyone wants rid whenever it's near them.

Joyce was rubbish as were most of our players in the first half. But he's been dog <ovf censored> all season. Conlon is inconsistent but clearly is someone that can improve further. Joyce is 33 and past his best, which wasn't great to begin with.

Our defensive line is sitting 10 to 15 metres behind where we were before Clarke came in. Swings and roundabouts, less chance of the sucker punch ball over the top that has been our achillies heel; but the midfield is also getting dragged back deeper and picking the ball up in areas where they can't do a lot with it. Montano to an extent and Gibbons more so aren't able to offer much down the flanks going forward as their starting position is so far back.

No, I don't. We'll never miss a striker that has a worse goal-scoring record over the last couple of years than most defenders.

Yes I agree with everything after your first sentence. However Joyce was one of our better players first half, which says a lot for the others.

And throw ins, seems like we've got some kind of spread bet for over 30 throw ins for Stevenage

Need a bigger pitch

Would like to see guthrie come on i think him and swan would look good together feeding off his scraps. Rodney has impressive as he is is showing his inexperience and weaknesses if players give him no time on the ball hes pretty ineffective as it takes him about 3 touches to get the ball under control which playing as striker you dont get that time. I would say maybe try move him onto the left and bring guthrie on up top with swan

No agenda. Joyce has done as well as the other 2 today not denying that. That Dosent mean he’s been good this season though

And my original point was some people can’t look past their view of a player and judge them on an individual game, hence my initial comment to someone criticising Joyce when Conlon has been far worse today. I’d still release Joyce end of season.

 

I dislike this current squad more than the bunch of chancers we assembled under Bruno. Players like Amoros and De Frietas aren't any worse than what we have now, and were clearly passionate in playing for the club.

I think our midfield 3 haven’t used the ball well enough. When they have got it down they haven’t brought the wing backs in, despite Monty and Gibbo making wide runs to receive the ball. The back 3 and back 5 have defended really well as a unit. Rodney hasn’t managed to hike the ball up at times, but we’ve had a couple of decent chances despite that in particular the one from Monty. 

Lee Blakeman makes me cringe every time. Bring back the barmy Tranmere commentators
