I think the reason why another midfielder has been mentioned is purely down to Oyeleke's lack of game time last season and his niggling pre-season injury this summer. Hopefully we're unnecessarily anxious and he gets some game time today. But if he continues to pick up these frustrating problems it's a worry. We need him firing on all cylinders for 50 games. If he's absolutely fine then we have no worries.

What have we got left before we start? Two friendly games only?

    I would not be surprised if the friendly against Rochdale is cancelled. When are we going to play them? Have I missed a date for the game? I would have assumed that we would play them on the 5th September but seeing as we are now playing Scunthorpe I can't see  us playing during the last week before we kick off the league campaign. Unless Askey has decided which players will kick off against Crawley , so plays a reserve 11 to give them some match practice.

    The cup game v Scunthorpe is effectively a practice match for the league season - its pretty much all that competition is good for.

    I’ve seen quite a few Barca games on the TV which I know isn’t the same as going to the game, but I’ll tell you one thing for sure, for all those who go on about Messi, he’s no Paul Kerr.

    Someone on twitter seems to be hinting something is going on with Gibbons? Without really saying what it actually is. Anyone heard anything on that?

    I heard a rumour he’d picked up a knock in training last week and was seen in a leg brace outside the ground. I don’t think he played he yesterday’s game.
