Racial equality isn't a matter of left or right. It has nothing to do with party politics.

It's a moral imperative.

It's about what is right and what is wrong.

It seems to have nothing to do with Smarmer. He couldn’t even condemn Saturdays’rioters as racists.

I don't condone public disorder, but there is a clear difference in the objectives and aims of the BLM campaign and those of the white supremacist thugs at the weekend. One wants black civil rights, the other a punch up with the police.

You'll always get a fringe element attaching itself to the herd, as we know even at PVFC, but you do have to distinguish between what both groups are all about and trying to do. Just because Port Vale has a few dozen nutters in the crowd doesn't automatically mean that we're all hooligans.

Both marches were wrong because of the virus and the danger to everyone's health. But I think it's impossible for us to appreciate the anger and frustration felt by black people.

The idea of racial equality should be supported. The idea of white nationalism and attacking the police for a day out should not be supported. The disorder on both weekends was clearly out of order.

Little or no attention was given to the 10,000 demonstrators at Brighton who I believe did so sensibly and in good humour, with no arrests.

I'm pleased that Premiership footballers and other sportsmen have lent their support to racial equality. I hope Port Vale does the same. We can all condemn the few idiots on the fringe while lending a hand to ending the appalling discrimination that has gone for too long.

I've said my peace on here and we're going round in circles. But standing against racism has nothing to do with politics of the left or right. It's simply about right and wrong.

I think there's a song isn't there, a nice one, called "Whose side on you on?"

Re disbanding the Police.  This is an interesting story about what happens when you do.

I don't think disbanding the police should be done until we have a trial period of say a month with no officers available, just to see if it will work.

Just so everyone doesn't start running down a rabbit hole of there being no police. (RB... Told you this would happen)

This is NOT what BLM are talking about... Its on their website. They believe that the remit of the police should be reduced only in areas where they are not best trained or placed to help. Like dealing with mentally ill people for example.

They are not suggesting that you just get rid of police or disband them.

Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen should be asked for their opinions on this matter after recent events.

Yes, well done everyone.

Defund the police and reinvest in programmes that reduce the causes of crime (social services, mental health services, addiction support, therapy, education) is the EXACT same as not having any policeman at all.

You're all really clever, with your pithy comments. A job well done.
