Match Thread - Port Vale v Stoke C U21

About 3150 vale have sold so young lad in ticket office told me at 4pm this afternoon

Would not give me one at first as I’m not a season ticket holder still said no after showing him my tattoo

Luckily I was on the database so sold me one in the end

That’s a bit daft, how many Stoke fans are going to get a Vale tattoo just to get a ticket for this game.

I fully understand the reasoning behind this rule but a bit of common sense wouldn’t go amiss.

There you go again...elitist star fans attitude as if coming to the club to attempt to go a one off game (As is his right) is somehow not good enough and a rejection of someone who does not go on a regular basis as if it is some kind of 'class rejection'

This is what puts myself and many others from attending...this self righteous attitude that you are somehow better than many who probably want to go but don't always get opportunity

On the other side of the coin, Vale are a disgrace for turning people away. Show some common sense you will always get opposing fans in other areas of the ground. Again another example of the club showing a snotty attitude to anyone who does not hold a season ticket

Vale deserve the low crowds they get

It puts you off going? What a load of rubbish. Once you have a ticket & are in the ground would anyone know if it’s your first time in attendance for 5 years or you go every game?

I completely agree with you, Smithie, but this bloke was being completely irrational. He claimed not to know he needed a season ticket yet it had been on Radio Stoke, in the Sentinel, on all the websites. He didn't seem to accept that the club was doing its best to segregate supporters for obvious reasons and thought the rule should be broken for him.

I very much doubt we have turned away any regular supporters. As has been shown above, if you are on the database you get a ticket.

So it’s OK to let Stoke fans to buy tickets for Vale Park without any proof or season ticket, yet Vale fans need to be a season ticket holder or on the database to try and support their team at home despite us having a stadium which won’t be half full.

Tell me how this hasn’t happened.

Tickets went on general sale for Stoke fans, Port Vale fans have to be a season ticket holder or on the database.

What Stoke do with their tickets is nowt to do with Vale so I don't see how that's relevant. Secondly, Vale tickets were on general sale before Stoke sold out. That's when they were suspended and the ST rule introduced to ensure segregation of the crowd.

Are you for real ???

Its the product on the pitch that is important to me,the results and how we play I couldn't give a stuff about my fellow supporters I think you are just looking for an excuse not to go full stop.

I had to argue my case for about 10 minutes with the woman today. I was on the database when they sent an email asking about changing the club crest then never heard owt ever again. I managed find the email on my phone so she gave in and sold me a ticket

Tattoo=Ticket 100% imo

Let's not kid ourselves here, this Stoke City U21 team aren't a bunch of "kids".

It's a young squad of cherry picked youth internationals, most bought for fees.

We could easily get thumped 4-0.

Can’t see it. We have already played against Newcastle United last season and Swansea youth teams, outplaying both.

This team is the best it has been compared to those two matches. I think we will win 3-1.

Why! We have played Newcastle United and Middlesbrough under 21’s and they where poor, Stoke side probably won’t be any better than them. Most not used to men’s football, we have seen this with loan signings from Championship and above, most not ready. Don’t think we would lose by the score you suggest their first team!

Middlesbrough, Newcastle or Swansea didnt have a 4000+ away following either. Some of their U21's will be on a decent wage and have been in the acadamy's of big clubs for 10 years or so, but in this case you cant beat experience of playing in L1 or L2 so im going for a win but not a massive one...
