It wasn’t a penalty - check the Newport precedent at Vale and the Ashley Young one at OT against Newcastle.

I was surprised to say the least,Jean. But The man from VAR said “Yes”.Ashley Young would never handle the ball. The Newport one was blatant.

VAR is supposed to correct clear and obvious errors. If the ref has to spend as long as that bloke did last night looking at the telly by the side of the pitch then the "error" isn't clear and obvious. If we must have VAR, there should be a time limit in seconds, not minutes, for the decision to be made. Some of the stuff we've seen in the Champs League this season has been farcical.

For me the "PSG Penalty" was a pen, look at the position of the PSG players left arm, the player knows what he's doing with his right arm and that's making himself bigger.

If you recall, the Newport player against Vale had his hand above his head making himself 8 foot tall but it wasn't a pen!!

Porto put Roma out. Keep up at the back!

Senior moment, sorry.

I meant to say Porto and Ajax.

It's nice to see Ajax back at the top table. It's been a long time.

I saw their great team of the seventies a few times. In fact, they played at Stoke if I remember correctly. Very good to watch. And this was before Barcelona and Man City. They don't have a huge budget either but have a superb academy/youth system that encourages ball players and skill over physicality and rigid coaching.

Yep, I can vaguely remember that one and also thought it was a pen, I guess these calls are subjective and some are given, some not.

Newcastle are under pressure to explain why Peter Beardsley left the club. The club have failed to disclose their findings after their U23's coach departed on Wednesday after a 14-month probe into claims of racism and bullying.

Kick It Out are demanding an explanation from the Toon on the reasons Beardsley left and are encouraging the club to be more transparent.

If Liverpool don’t win the league and the first English club out of the champions league will they still be saying it’s been a successful season?

Probaby not, but being the second best team in the country is hardly a disgrace, is it? And neither will getting knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munchen if that happens next week. But it's a 50-50 game as I believe Liverpool have it in them to put in a performance on the night.

Unlike Howjy, who acts like a bitter little girl most of the time, I'm man enough to give credit where it's due and you can only admire what Solskjaer has done with United. I said months ago that they should be doing so much better than what they were under Mourinho with the players they have, but I still didn't expect Ole to turn it around as quickly and well as he is. That victory in Paris was fortunate, and you're always going to need some luck to pull off such a result, but I never thought for a moment they were capable of it and even more so with the team they had out, so fair play.

Well done for getting a point at OT and at Goodison.

They should come clean. Just because PB was one of the best players ever to wear the shirt doesn't mean he shouldn't be brought to book for his behaviour as a coach with the youngsters.

Something like my top 5 for the EPL player of the season: (though positions could change in the final 10 games)

1 - Virgil Van Dijk

2 - Eden Hazard

3 - Sergio Aguero

4 - Raheem Sterling

5 - Son Heung-min

Fernandinho, Mane, Kane, Vertonghen and Jiminez are also worth a mention.
