I think that the last time we went to Mansfield the vast majority who went on the train were taken to 1 pub in particular and kettled in there. Wasn't very good by all accounts, no ale and the pork scratchings weren't up to much either.

Mansfield really is the pits believe me as one who knows. Who mentioned sightseeing? Stay in the bloody pub is my advice. The Wetherspoons aren’t that great but the others are worse! See you all there

Agreed. Would rather drink in the place where the game is... all part of the away day experience. Correct. This is exactly what I meant. Looking forward to this away day as Nottingham is a great stop off for boozers. Hopefully up early doors from Birmingham for this one.

Only my second visit to Mansfield. My other visit was 25 years ago during the bitter sweet 92-93 season. Can still remember Paul Kerr's winner clear as day for some reason. Boy do I wish us to be as good as that team again.

Yes, i knew what you meant but even though its Nottingham, i can't see any atmosphere created in an early afternoon session, in another town,which was my point,hence my destination being Mansfield.

Yes, i knew what you meant but even though its Nottingham, i can't see any atmosphere created in an early afternoon session, in another town,which was my point,hence my destination being Mansfield.

 

Each to their own I guess although if Bert says Mansfield ain’t up too much then I think I’ll avoid it. I lived in Nottingham for 3 years when at University so know the city well. I’ll be taking a couple of lads on a little tour around town.
