Brexit again...

I've just see MEP Lucy Harris on the BBC one o'clock news.  She is an interesting character.  In the lead up to the European elections she was on Radio Five along with other candidates from different parties.  She said that Brexiteers wanted to leave "at any cost".  When asked to elaborate on what she meant by that she said, "Well...I don't...I mean...are you looking for a number...or? I think short term there will be an on the economy. Short-term yes."  She was then asked what she meant by short term and she replied, "How long is short term? I don't know. The next 30 years?  I think short term there will be some effects on it."  She went on to say, "The price of democracy and the price of sovereignty is high. People have died for this. The economics of this sometimes isn't as important as the principle of it."

So there you have it.  The Brexit Party think that our economy will be affected adversely for about 30 years before we see any benefit.  I, and probably a number of others on both sides of the argument, will most likely be dead by then.  But we will die happy know that, in spite of our adverse economic circumstances, we have had our sovereignty back.

Are France and Germany less democratic? They certainly have fully  elected parliaments, and none of this knocking on door ceremonies.

And we were promised the earth in 2016 and now it's turned into a complete can of worms with none of those promises achieved.  The 2016 football club has become a 2019 level 20 darts club.

Those promises haven't been achieved because of a Remainer parliament who don't want a deal, don't want a no-deal and  don't want a general election.

It is called sovereignty, or would you prefer a dictatorship?

If it hadn't been for Gina Miller we would now be out on the terms of the May deal which you didn't want.  You said it kept us hostage to the EU and was rightly rejected.  Yet now you seem to support a deal which is more than 95% the same?

What’s Sovereignty got to do with anything? The Queen ordered parliament to close and that was thrown out. We are a democratic society and we had a democratic vote for which millions cannot seem to accept. We should have an election and then decide if we remain democratic or become a Socialist nation.

Which of the leavers here actually support this ‘new’ deal? Would be interesting if to see if any more are just all hot air and hypocrites like For us all.

I voted Remain.I would now vote Leave.Apparently it’s my democratic right to change my mind.

My original argument more than three years ago was that it was daft to have a referendum which overrode the sovereignty of Parliament because some people wanted to ensure the sovereignty of Parliament!!
